Scottie Pippen is never considered by anyone to be one of the top 10 or 20 players to play basketball because he never led a team to a championship. He is still considered a great player...
Where did I say that anyone considered him top ten or top twenty? Where did anyone say that? You said, "Pippen isn't listed as one of the greatest players ever." Which, at least comes off as, a reference to the NBA's 50 Greatest Players list a few years ago. Scottie was clearly screwed out of being on that list.As for leading a team to a championship, what exactly did he do? He played an incredibly integral part in everyone of those title teams. In fact the greatness of Michael Jordan endured five losing seasons in all five years that he played without Scottie Pippen, while not having a single losing season with Scottie Pippen. I'm just saying... What is your definition of "leading a team"? Is it being the go-to guy every fourth quarter? Is it being the best defender on the team? Or is it just leading the team in scoring? Kobe accomplished two of those and hell after the 2000 season, Kobe was scoring damn near the same amount of points per game Shaq was. A lot of people, it sounds like you included, just attributed that to playing with Shaq. But I'll be damned, he just made the all defensive squad and led the league in scoring this season...so that clearly was not the case.Just to clarify, I'm not trying to say that Kobe led the Lakers, but rather that it takes more than just one player to lead a team. One of the main knocks on Kobe's leadership is that he "forced Shaq out of town" (which is a myth for a different time and place). However where are these same people when asked about Shaq's demand for Kobe to be traded? If Shaq is such a great leader, why would he want to break up a clearly successful formula. People held it against Kobe...Hold it against Shaq. How do you figure? When someone mentions the 2000-02 Lakers, no one just talks about Shaq. That's certainly one thing Kobe has over Scottie. It's not "Shaq this, Shaq that" like people talk about Michael Jordan and his titles. It's always "Shaq & Kobe this, Shaq & Kobe that." You see that logo at the top of this forum? No, not Dwight Howard and Dwyane Wade, the other one...on the left...

He is still considered a great player, Kobe will be considered that too, but he will never be one of the greatest players like people think he will become, because he never led a team further than the 7th seed so far. Shaq is the one who will mostly be remembered for that 3 championship run. He was the one that anchored that team, not Kobe. He was the one who won all 3 of the NBA Finals' MVP. Kobe was just the #2 option that team, the sidekick. Look at Jerry West? Jerry West isnt remembered as one of the greatest players ever, are they.</div>You just dont get it. KOBE IS 28 YEARS OLD. He probably has around 10-11 years left in his career. Probably 8 good seasons left in him. So stop acting as if his career is over godammit.

Maybe offensively, but he can get broken down defensively by Lindsey Hunter.
OK, Kobe Bryant being praised defensively is starting to annoy me alot. Yes he's a good defender when he wants to be, but that's only in the final 3 minutes of the game. The other 45 minutes, he's playing inconsistent, lazy defense. I've seen Kobe get blown by a ton, and you people give him too much credit. The 6 All-Defensive awards are misleading, because they are voted on by media members who only look at the 2 SPG, and now Kobe's one-on-one defense

I don't even believe he's made the 2nd team in his whole career.
Kobe wasn't expected to do as good as he did, why do you think the Hornets traded him. Lebron was #1 pick for a reason. He was expected to do great, and he has, but he has no one else on his team. Lebron doesn't even back up his words.(actually he kind of does) When he told Arenas, that if he misses these free throws, the game would be over. I expected Lebron to shot the game-winnner.(Kobe would of) But instead he passes it to a bench player. If Jones would of missed it, Lebron would of been so pissed. That was a stupid play by Lebron.
