Alonzo Mourning easily...Illgauskus was never anything special. Zo was one of the most dominating players in the game during his prime on both sides of the ball. No contest here..Even now, way out of Zo's prime, you could still argue him being better.

Alonzo Mourning, without a doubt. This shouldn't even be a question, and I don't think my pick needs to be justified because of that.

Mourning was a MVP candidate during his prime. That speaks for itself.

Mourning, it's not even that close. He's one of the best defenders in the league, and like anypoint said he was a MVP candidate. Big Z is not at that level and I don't think he ever will be

Are you kidding me? This is a wash. Alonzo was such a dominant defensive player. He gets my nod easily. Big Z is too slow and needs Lebron to create for him. Alonzo was energetic and a great inside scorer as well.

I'm going like everyone else with Mourning. Mourning was way better than big Z ever could be.

I think Mounin right now vs. Big Z is still debatable. If it wasnt for Mourning's stint with the Raptors I'd still rather have him than Big Z at this point.

Alonzo Mourning all over, don't get me wrong Z is a great player especially with his height, but Alonzo covered the floor and did everything he could for his team in his prime. Big Z is really the guy that comes on after LeBron James, Alonzo was a huge standing figure for his team in his day. I'm sorry but easily Alonzo.

Are you serious?I rather have Alonzo Mourning over Z right now.Zs a bad player and hes weak on the defensive end,ZO is a blocking beast and can score in the post way better then Z especially in his prime. When ZO was starting he was the leading blocker in the NBA over Ben wallace,Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett.Dont even compare Big z to one of the greatest centers of all time.

I don't know if there's a member on this board who would vote for Zydrunas.

Alonzo Mourning was one of the best centers to ever play the game, their is no comparison at all. Zydrunas other than shotblocking is as useless on defense.

Alonzo in his prime. He was one of the top, if not the top center in the league at the time. He would dominate a game. Now on the otherhand Big Z doesn't get up in down the floor as well as Zo did, he is quite worse at defending but I think he's the better shooter, that's about it.

Well I'd pick Zo now, forget his prime. The only center he could be compared to in his prime was Shaq, and they were in a league of their own.
