OK, I've got to go teach all afternoon and evening, but unless we do something nutty and trade Deng for #8. Basically, I look at this draft like this Guys that ought to be gone but I might trade up for if the price was right (it probably won't be) Favors Johnson Udoh Wall Turner Henry Obviously Wall and Turner ain't gonna happen, and probably not Favors or Johnson. But hey, if someone offered, I'd consider this. Slightly more realistically, that 8th pick might get Henry or Udoh, both of whom look quite talented on paper. Guys I'd target with the 17th pick if we keep it Henry, on the off chance he falls. Patterson. Tough as nails big with adequate physical skills. Can't go wrong there. James Anderson. Just seems like the obvious choice. Looks to be on the board, very good shooter, and rates out fine, although not great athletically compared to other great athletes, he's still a very good athlete and should hold his own just fine Damion James. I really don't know much about him, but he's got an NBA body and ok skills. Guys I'd look at as later pick sleepers if we got a later pick: Stanley Robinson, Armon Johnson, Jarvis Varnando.
Youre a teacher? But like i said in the other thread, I say Send Deng and 17 to Minny for 23. Thats only if the deal with the Clips doesnt happen.
Yep I teach economics at the local community college to get me out of the house when I'm not taking care of the kids. Question on deng to the wolves is who we get with the cap space. Thatsa bigger risk, but just having Lu is pretty risky at his salary
Well I assume since FA is right around the corner, we cant trade for expirings anymore. Do the Wolves have enough cap to absorb Deng's Contract? If not, then I guess we could possibly get Ellington? Idk how that would work seeing as he has a team option, so would it kinda be like trading for a expiring? If we CAN still deal for expirings, then I say grab Darko (if theyre not keeping him and he says hes gonna go back to europe) and 23. Deng is making a lil over 10.3 mil while Darko is at 7.5. Im sure the Wolves have enough cap to absorb the 2.8 difference right?
Nothing guaranteed yet. One source says that the Kings may jump in if the deal falls thru wit the Wiz
It's an awesome deal. I was convinced yesterday that the Bulls were going to settle for Joe Johnson in free agency and keep Deng. This means the Bulls can acquire Joe Johnson, a PF and keep Luol Deng. Or ship Luol Deng and get three players. Huzzah! Noah, Boozer, Deng, Rose, and Johnson? That's a contending lineup.
If we pull another deal for Deng, we BETTER land someone lol. That would be an insane amount of money to spend. The lineup you mention is pretty good as well if we do keep deng, but I say if we go for lebron, we still have to try and move deng, if not then i guess we'll be running a small lineup depending if we dont get bosh.
I don't see the gamble in letting go of Kirk. Do the Bulls want to be stuck in mediocrity? No, so just go for it.
Kirk had a PER under 10 most of the season and $17M left on his contract. He needs a change of scenery. I'm glad we didn't have to give up Deng to get the extra cap space.
I only thought Deng was attractive in an S&T kind of scenario, or as a last resort to free cap space. Giving up Kirk for cap space is just too good to be true. Think about this: Suppose LBJ wants to come to CHI TOWN and Cleveland would then do a S&T (so LBJ gets MAX and 6 years and 10.5% raises) for Deng. That'd give us LBJ and cap space for two more FAs.
Just for fun: http://espn.go.com/nba/features/freeagentslotmachine LeBron: Chicago Wade: Miami Bosh: NY Dirk: Dallas Amare: Miami Boozer: Detroit Lee: Suns JJ: Chicago What else to make of this? I'll say still premature on most of these people. So many moves left to make.
They're probably trying to get rid of Arenas? Kirk's contract isn't terrible and they get the #17 pick (Danny Granger in a lucky year) for absolutely nothing. Sounds quite official.
Well Denny reports are that it is official. But youre right, anything can happen since it cant be finalized until the 8th
The trade should hold up. By the time the Wizards are relevant Kirk's deal will be off their books. They get to develop a young prospect for nothing. To seal the deal maybe the Bulls could offer some cash? Whatever. ;]
