Is Pietrus still on the table for Deng?

If that can clear cap space for Bosh (or some other comparable/better deal), you have to go for it.

David Lee, Bosh and Lebron is a decent summer. Should expect to see everyone's numbers go down.

Wizards are going to be a shitty team next year with Wall turning the ball over every other possession and Arenas shooting it whenever Wall doesn't give it away. Sucks for Hinrich, but oh well. Does dumping Hinrich before Deng indicate that the probably FA is Joe Johnson, and not LBJ? Or do they still turn Deng into Pietrus and Gortat? I hope it isn't JJ and LBJ, because I don't see Rose/JJ/LBJ being a combination even as great as the sum of their parts. The bulls have an even bigger hole at SG now.

What if no FA wants to sign with us?

hahahaha someone will sign with us. We have too much potential as a team that needs a couple of extra pieces not to attract anyone. You could ask the same thing about New York

    I don't care if it's not a perfect fit. I think replacing Salmons/Hinrich with JJ/LBJ is a pretty solid upgrade. :>

Joe Johnson and David Lee could be our two FAs. We wouldn't suck, but we wouldn't compete with Miami if they get two FAs to go with Wade.

It'd definitely be an upgrade in talent, but I'd rather root for an underdog than be frustrated and disappointed with a favorite. I don't see those guys coexisting well. Somebody has to take a back seat and will Joe Johnson play an unselfish role like Ray Allen did for the C's. I'm not sure. Will JJ be worth max money in 3-4 years? Pretty sure he won't.

JJ did play a lesser role in Atlanta the past few seasons, taking it for the team.

I agree he's going to be up there in years by the end of his contract though.

Heh, they could probably sign Salmons for $5M or so :)

I figure there's plenty of guys out there we can get to replace him. Obviously it needs to be done, but I feel good about those chances

Huh? Joe Johnson took 200 more shots than anybody else on the Hawks last year. He didn't give up anything. You could argue that he's played in shitty offensive systems with similarly selfish players, but I haven't seen anything to indicate he's willing to take a secondary role. He originally went to Atl to "be the man."

They don't have to mesh perfectly together to win it all. The facts are that he isn't going to tell LeBron what to do and Rose will get touches.

Joe is horribly overpaid and Chicago should stay away from him. I hope Miami signs him so they can cry about it later.

But throwing in the towel already? You don't have to be frustrated yet, no one has lost anything.

    Huh?

JJ was a 25 PPG player in 06-07, Atlanta won 30 games.
He cut down on his scoring/shooting and they won 37, 47, and 53 games.

Yep. I'm thinking JJ may be ready to win. He has had 4 years of being the man. He won't expect as many shots if he signs here with Lebron.

I never thought of JJ bein selfish seein that he always averages over 20 wit like 5-6 dimes per game. But if the rumors are true about the deal that he would take from us, it would be 4 yrs around 50-60 mil. 50 mil is alright since thats like 12.5/yr while 60 is at 15, def not a max deal
