Hmm... I think Cunningham is a possibility at the 3 spot, for sure, but I also think that Babbitt is the best shooter on the team and he will force his way onto the floor this season.

We wants it, we needs it. Must have the precious. They stole it from us. Sneaky little hobbitses. Wicked, tricksy, false!

That's a pretty good point. We don't really ask a lot out of our threes in the offense, other than to hit threes. Which Babbitt seems more than capable of.

The guy his free throws at a 92% clip. When you are that automatic at the charity stripe, you have to be a pretty damned good shooter. He may not be much of a defender, but that's why we've got Oden, Aldridge, Przybilla (for now) and Camby. I'm definitely excited to see him in the three point specialist role Webster was supposed to play (but was never that great at).

I'm calling Gomes to Miami so they can get Wade, LeBron and Bosh in Miami. then what?

Meh. Fair value (or better) for Webster. Just a boring, unimportant deal. Tinkering around the margins when the team (and KP) needed something a lot bigger.

I'm thinking the idea he is moved for capspace for another team in a larger trade is VERY likely - nice chip but it expires on June 30th.

I'll just say that I like Babbit's shot. I've seen a lot better, though. It has some holes in it, but for his age, it's not bad. For his height and size, it's beyond his years. But, I don't think he'll get more than 1400 minutes total his first two seasons as a Blazer. That's not very many minutes.

You lost me when you said you think this team will play Aldridge at small forward. Teams often say they will play shooting power forwards at small forward, but it almost never happens.

    Re: Woj Spills Deal..........

Skill is obviously far more important than age. Travis Outlaw and Brandon Roy. Martell Webster and Deron Williams. etc.

Of course, Babbitt's skill is the question mark.

Monty Williams would have really been beneficial to Babbitt this upcoming year...oh well...

I hope he's a little more athletic than Luke Jackson was... or else he's gonna struggle big-time on defense. Hope he pans out. I'm interested to see this guy at summer league.

    Luke Babbitt:
    Height in shoes - 6'8.75"
    Wingspan - 6'11.25"
Max vertical - 37.5" (same as Stanley Robinson, Avery Bradley, Wesley Johnson)
Max reach - 11'10" (same as Al-Farouq Aminu)

    Luke Jackson:
    Height in shoes - 6'7"
    Wingspan - 6'8.5"
    Max vertical - 36"
    Max reach - 11'7"

I think a lot of people misremember how athletic Luke Jackson was before his severe injuries. He had one of the fastest sprint times in the combine his year and a very good vertical. Couple that with Babbitt having better numbers in size and athleticism, and I'm not worried.

Good info. Thanks. Hope you're right about it, and I trust guys like KP, Born and Buchanan that if they think this guy is a player, that he will be. Summer league should be a good one.

Luke Jackson though.. injury or no injury, I don't think he had the lateral quickness or ability to create his own shot to be an impact NBA player. Great college player, but would've had a so-so NBA career, at best, if healthy
