"#Blazers' Born said Pritchard was "inspirational" during draft with how he handled himself." "#Blazers' Buchanan said Pritchard was "phenomenal today ... did an unbelievable job."" The arrogance of that asshole. Glad he's gone
I don't blame KP for wanting clarity. I don't blame his friends for giving him support. I also don't blame Allen for running HIS team how he sees fit. The guy has been willing to spend insane amounts of money in his efforts to put together a winner, and I seriously doubt he's mentally deficient or evil. If, though, we get a shitty GM... I will not be happy. I expect the team to get a solid (or better) replacement. Ed O.
I also have a hard time hating either KP or Allen in this. Players are replaced all the time in order to be more competitive. We can do the same with the GM.
My only hope is that this firing is somewhat with reason (as in KP broke some kind of trust, but didn't necessarily do anything worthy of being fired "with cause") and that this information can reach the ears of potential candidates ... otherwise I strongly suspect we could be getting a re-tread or other sub-par candidate.
Well that all depends. They could end up hiring a virtually unknown candidate who ends up doing a spectacular job. *Cough* KP *Cough*
If I were a candidate for the job (oh, wait, I am a candidate for the job!) I'd definitely call KP up and ask him exactly what happened. And I suspect he'd tell me his version. And then I'd discuss what happened to the last guy with the Blazers in my interview process. And comparing the two stories, I could probably get some insight. I might not know the exact story, but I'd know more than we message board denizens do, and enough to make an educated guess about whether it would be an issue for me. barfo
