Newly released internal documents show BP PLC estimated 4.2 million gallons of oil a day could gush from a damaged well in the Gulf of Mexico if all equipment restricting the flow was removed and company models were wrong. Democratic Massachusetts Congressman Ed Markey released the documents Sunday showing BP said in a worst-case scenario the leak could gush between 2.3 million and 4.2 million gallons of oil per day. The current worst-case estimate of what's leaking is 2.5 million gallons a day. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/06/20/bp-thought-spill-could-be_n_618879.html
Terrible decision by BP to lie to Congress on this. I am glad their Chairman axed the CEO. Haywood looked like an absolute moron up there. Look for a much more active and involved Chairman of the Board - there is no doubt he will now be calling all the shots PR wise and this new guy Dudley, will be his mouthpiece.
He just didn't have good PR people. They could have spun it that he was investigating the possibilities for using racing yachts for fast deployment of booms in the gulf. barfo
I can't believe this has been going on for 60+ days. Reports of Tropical Storm Alex heating up in the Gulf.
