With the number one pick in the 2006 NBA Draft the Portland Trail Blazers select..Who will they select? Thats the question that lingers upon NBA GM's as the NBA draft is only weeks away. On many sites the 6'9 athelti forward, Tyrus Thomas is considered the top prospect and potentially the number one pick by many draft sites. Thomas is an atletic-freak and is a tremendous shot blocker and would be a good addition to a team looking to add atheleticism and defense. Adam Morrison, the NCAA 05-06 scoring leader, is a polished player looking to make an immediate impact on the league. He has alot of moves that will benefit him, as other players are still developing their go-to moves. At the begining of the season Rudy Gay was a potential player of the year contender and a strong consideration for the number one pick. As the year went on, Gay had his good games, but he seemed to be very inconsistent. Gay can play defense as good as anyone in the country, and I see him being a Gerald Wallace to a Scottie Pippen type player in the NBA, he would be a good addition to the Charlotte Bobcats. Patrick O'Bryant is one of those steal or bust type players. He brings size and athletisicm, great shot blocking ability, and a above-average rebounder. He likes contact and that will really benefit him as his career progresses. There are three dynamic scorers that could turn into great players in the NBA, if put in the right situation. Quincy Douby, Senior from Rutgers, is a lethal long range shooter. JJ Redick as well all know, can hit NBA three-pointers with ease. The senior from Villanove, Allan Ray is a play maker, scorer, and a leader. Any one of those three could turn out to be the "Steve Kerr" of his team. There are two potential "steals" in this draft, Darius Washington Jr., and Paul Milsap. Darius Washington's game reminds me of Dajuan Wagner combined with Gilbert Arenas. At his age, he has the tools and potential to be a very good player in the league for a long time. Paul Milsap has a slight resemblence of Ben Wallace. He's a dynamic rebounder and defender, and a tough guy to defend down low. Many draft 'guru's" say that this is a weak draft. They also said that about the last draft as well, and it turned out being a fairly deep draft. Writen by: Me

I think you got to go with Tyrus Thomas. He will be the top pick in a weak draft class. He has to be the most dominant player in the draft and can be compared to Amare. Blazers you got to take him, if it is in fact the Blazers that win the lottery.

I still think Morrison to Blazers, they need to fix their image, and I don't know if Tyrus is the kind of player that will. Fans also want Morrison, and that goes a long way towards attendance as well. Add in Miles is the first to go before Randolph as Miles has already been told to not return to the team. Randolph has yet to receive that kind of notice, Morrison seems like the likely replacement for Miles.Forgot to say that Blazers weaknesses though many this past year were in 3pt fg and offense as a whole. Morrison would help both categories.

Morrison because he will probably be the best scorer out of that class. The man knows how to score points. The Blazers are the worst in the League at scoring so they should go with Morrison because he will also give them instant production.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Yeah I agree, pick the white player because he will probably portray the better image.</div> It's not about color, Morrison is a class guy, I look at Thomas and the image he brings is similar to Miles, a athletic freak whose leaving too early to enter the NBA. Blazers will be weary in taking him because he's young and brass.

I hope the Hawks get someone amazing. Or just a Point Guard. A decent one at that.

i think this topic should be postponed till the lottery, but i think theres no way thomas isnt the first pick. morrison goes third AFTER aldridge (to the celtics of course haha)1.thomas2.aldridge3.morrison4.bargani5. foye6. gay7. roy8. carney9 m. williamsthats the order it will probably gobut heres my personal talent/future in the league order:1. gay2. bargani3. carney4. thomas5. morrison 6. foye7. roy8. aldrige9. mahcusi honestly think gay is THE BEST player in the draft, and carney will be like RJ in some time, thats y hes so high. care to debate?
