KP's firing will make the team better, that is my OPINION. KP was great at finding talent, that is it. We've done that and need to move on to the next phase of this franchise. KP , falls in love with his player, can't get the trades done and he obviously can't negotiate contracts worth a shit. Ferry has a track record of making moves to improve the team, meet our next GM......FACT
In fairness to KP, Ferry has a track record of making moves to TRY to improve his team. I agree with you about KP though. He is a great evaluator of talent, but this team needs to consolidate, and KP has shown an inability to do that.
I think GM's are held to a higher standard when it comes to their hitting average. I would expect a good one to be right at least 2/3's the time
You might be right, but in terms of ACTIVE moves, most of KP's moves have been good. He's more open to criticism for failures to make moves, and that's really squishy. Ed O.
I think going into each of the last three seasons, Ferry made moves that made Cleveland better. I hasn't amounted to a ring but their regular season record improved each year. But yes, he hasn't knocked my socks off and he did try to get it done. KP doesn't want to trade off any of his buddies, I mean players
KP wanted to let it bake, he couldn't get the ingredients right....time to get of of the kitchen and let someone else make the doughnuts
Great letter. Regardless of what KP did, he projected a great image, and represented the franchise and the city very well during a time when we really needed it. I think he'll go down as one of those fan favorites forever, which is rare for a front-office guy. No other GM in the league would have their name chanted during a game.
Canzano brings up the money quote from Miller's PC Is this what he would say if the team was doing poorly? NOPE. Pritchard would be out of a job and it would all be pinned on him. It's obvious more than ever to me there was some severe jealously in the Blazers organization. Grow up, children. Larry Miller, I don't like you.
Sure, insofar as Pritchard and Presti "probably" deserved just as much credit for San Antonio's success as RC Buford or Gregg Popovich.
Yep. I think Canzano hits the nail here: http://www.oregonlive.com/sports/or...f/2010/06/canzano_in_kevin_pritchards_fi.html
