I want to say Kerr bad mouthed the Blazers in the past. Not sure if it was Radio or Tv, but I seem to remember that it pissed me off because he was wrong. I just can't remember the statements. I could be way off base on this, but if true I am sure PA would remember it as well.

Me too. I'd like him as GM. I'd also like his assistant Griffin or whatever his name is. Pfund and Lindsey from SA would also be cool. I'm not sure which of those will be able to actually close a deal though.

Ferry put together a team that won the most regular season games in the league, right? How is it his fault that the team didn't perform in the playoffs?

Other teams fans are starting to laugh again

To Miller's statement that the Blazers are looking for a GM skilled in trades and FA:

Turning into a joke organization to the rest of the NBA again. Fun.

Well, the silver lining is we can stop hearing/reading about how big of a 'injury prone bust' Greg Oden is from other fan bases.

    For the time being.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Kerr own stock in the Suns? That means he would have to divest himself of any ownership interest before working for another team.

    Danny Ferry = Yuck.

I could never respect someone that was such a bust in the NBA. It would be like adam morrison being our GM in 25 years.

Heh, isn't Danny Ferry the guy that Bonzi spat upon?

    The same.

As a player, Ferry was a homeless man's Bill Laimbeer. He was arguably the most hated player in the league for his constant taunting, provocation, and dirty play. People gripe about Warkentein as a candidate because of his personality? Ferry ranks even lower in that category.

Because he is the person in charge of putting together a team that will be successful in the playoffs? I'm not an NBA owner, but I think I'd rather have my team win a title with the 8th seed than lose in the 2nd round with the #1 seed. Plus, a team like the Cavs, with LeBron, is always going to win a ton of regular season games because they have the best player and teams don't really put together extensive gameplans in regular season games. The playoffs is where you really start to see how well a roster is constructed/how well a team is coached.

Billy Beane was a pretty big bust in baseball, but he's a reasonably good GM.

Beane was HUGE bust. I'll assume you read Moneyball ... hard to believe he was on par with Darryl Strawberry out of HS.

One thing about Ferry that would be funny is if the rookie-scale is changed and agents matter again in that process. Ferry refused to play for the Clippers out of college after they drafted him #2 and went to Italy for a year to play before forcing the Clips to trade him to Cleveland. I wonder how that could be used as leverage in negotiations with him?

So, Michael Jordan is the best GM in basketball?

How exactly did Ferry build the Cavs? He lucked into Lebron James, that's it. I'll give him credit for getting Mo Williams for cheap when he did but nobody else on that roster is capable of doing anything by themselves.

Isn't the drafting of Kwame Brown and Adam Morrison enough proof?

My mistake. I was under the impression that the only literary devices allowed here were sarcasm and hyperbole. :)

LOL. Danny Ferry's NBA career was much better than Pritchards, so there goes that theory.

Kp was a mid 2nd rounder, how was he a bust? Ferry was the number 2 pick overall and averaged 7ppg for his career.
