With teams looking to save money, it's not player impact as much as player value. Bitch all you want about Rudy or Bayless, but their contributions compared to their salaries make them attractive in a trade. Martell's wasn't, which is why I was surprised we were able to make that trade. Throw in the expiring contracts of Joel (which will be primarily paid by insurance) and the option of having an expiring contract in Andre, and that's not completely unattractive. If you want an impact player in return, Nico or LMA will likely have to be included.

for Gomes and Rudy??? That doesn't make sense for the W's or the $$$ being exchanged. I guess they might value some cap relief, but thats their only real 5 and arguably their best player for a guy who hasn't shown himself to be better then either of Ellis's current backups (Azubuike or Morrow). Also (not that GM's don't lie) I just heard the Warriors GM interviewed claiming he's not shopping either guy

    you're dreaming

GS is in fire sale mode with new ownership coming in. Miller and Joel both offer expiring deals, and Rudy, Bayless and Babbitt would bring young cheap talent.

Miller, Joel, Rudy, Bayless rihts to Babbitt for Ellis and Biedrins

He's proved he will never be an NBA PG, is well too small to be a SG. He just doesn't have much value.

I read some Wolfboard howlings and picked up a little jargon. Khan-man the GM told the local media back around February that he had searched and found a diamond in the rough playing in the NBA. He wouldn't say who, but now they're guessing he had Webster targeted. He now barks that Webster improves greatly when he plays over 30 minutes, and he plans to start Martell at the 2. Wolfboards are running Webster highlights, including the 24-point quarter, and initial bitter criticism of Khan-man and his Gnomes trade has changed into Martell, the fan favorite.

everyone has an opinion but not much supports yours. Maggette being dealt represents a chance that this fire sale might be happening, but deal day just passed without anything significant following it. Dude is 6'5, 31 years old, due a lot of bank and not exactly a difference maker/great fit on that club going forward... I'd rate him well behind both Ellis and Biedrins. I'm guessing they use that saved $$$ to attain a real SF.
again, they don't need guards as they're already overloaded there. Good luck selling season tickets to W's fans on that guaranteed loser for 2010-11 plan. They'd also seriously piss off most of those who already did re-up. Why would a new owner want a pissed off/disinterested fanbase or a business that is hemorrhaging $$$? You are dreaming big, which is understandable because you're a fan of another team, but no way they're dumping their talent to a close geographical rival. Hey I'd love it if they threw in Steph too... thats about as likely
