Is he going to continue with what he said on Friday that the Trail Blazers are looking for a young upcoming type guy for the GM gig? A day later ESPN reports that Danny Ferry is the leading canidate. Gotta love Quick!

He's bashing on Patterson a bit. Saying that the stuff he's claiming about the 2006 draft contradicts what Allen told Quick, and what Patterson said at the time of the draft. Questioning the timing of all of these statements by Patterson.

Quick clearly does not like Steve Patterson, and I don't think he likes Brian Berger either. He scoffed (quietly) when Jaynes brought up the Berger/Patterson comments, and he claimed that Paul Allen told him directly that KP ran the 2006 draft. He then commented on the "interesting" timing of Patterson coming out of the woodwork.

Also says that Danny Ferry is the front-runner for the GM job.

I question Patterson's timing for coming out too, in fact I question a helluva lot of what's been going on around this organization and unfortunately the people that actually cover the team don't appear to be too interested in generating answers. C'mon Quick, your response to the question about why Patterson is coming out and contradicting the conventional wisdom that Roy and Aldridge were Pritch's picks is, "does it really matter?" I don't know if it matters or not, but it sure as hell seems like the kind of thing a reporter would like to find out one way or another.

Quick did say the rumor that has the most legs of why KP was fired was he and Penn were trying to undermind PA in contract negotiations.

Thinks that Ferry is the leading candidate, but thinks Pfund is a dark horse. I am not against Danny Ferry, but between the two I'd prefer Pfund.....even though he has piss and purple in his wardrobe somewhere.

That will come in handy in a couple of years when he ends up trading Nic and Roy to the Lakers for Sasha Vujacic, Luke Walton and DJ Mbenga

How old is Ferry? He made some good deals in Cleveland.

He made deals in Cleveland. It's arguable that they were good. I don't think they were bad at all, but a lot here do.

    45 by the way

Ferry's track record isn't that bad at all

Ferry's ok, I guess. Seems like he spent a few years working around the edges trying to find role players that fit with LeBron. Never pulled off a deal to find James a legit second banana, although he thought he had in Larry Hughes and then Mo Williams.

Is Ferry the guy who can get a stud PG on our team to complete our killer starting unit? I'm not so sure. Is he the guy who can find the best possible collection of guys 6-9 on the bench? Maybe.

I like Ferry in that he gets the big deals done.

Something that KP has never been able to do in Portland.

Brian Berger came on after Quick and said Ferry isn't interested.

He didn't get the Amare Stoudemire deal done, and he traded for an old Shaq and an old Antawn Jamison. Those are his "big moves".

Quicker said that the coaching staff is sky high on Babbitt and the only (current) Blazer that can put the ball in the hoop better than Luke is Roy.

Even with his offensive talent I have a feeling McMillan is going to park him in the corner.

    I can hear it now

    Roy with the ball.
    Calls the 4 down play
Roy working 1 on 1, now doubled.
    Shot clock down to 5
Roy drives and kicks to babitt standing in the corner
He shoots, and it's JUST off.
He was working against the clock, and might not have been set for that.
Nate makes a move to the bench, who is it going to be?
Steve Blake comes in for Babbitt.

That's high praise, given that LMA can put the ball in the basket and so do Miller and (less consistently) Bayless.

Assuming that Nate is really under pressure to perform - I am certain that if Babbit warrants the minutes and can handle them - he will get them.
