OMG he isn't that good, LOL! Crazy how he's been perceived this summer. This is a guy that routinely gets tooled by Rasheed Wallace, Al Jefferson, Zach Randolph, Carlos Boozer, etc..
Sorry he is pretty good. The Raptors have a terrible team defensively he just needs a new environment.
You get Bosh next to 'bron and Noah and his defense will improve. If not, both guys can cover for him
Joe, Boozer etc. are worse so whatever. He's only 26 and the best option to pair up with Bron. I suppose other combos could work though.
I'm not all that impressed with him either. He's a lot like Gasol in that he can be pretty easily taken out of games. But he is clearly the best option for the bulls. And things will be a lot easier for him with Rose and LBJ taking attention away from him.
Dozens, as in 24+ ? He's a top 10 player, good enough. Actually there aren't dozens of Amare Stoudemires in the NBA, what would make you think there are 24-36 Chris Boshs (if you meant some other amount disregard )?
Alright... no I don't think he's top ten and I think there are only a few superstars in the league and he's in the group below them, stars, and there are one or two on almost every team.
Bosh is rare because he's big, scores a LOT, and rebounds. Supply and demand says he's worth the MAX for the scarcity reasoning alone. He may be very wrong if he thinks his team can win with him as THE MAN. But as a #2 or #3 option, like on the Bulls, he'd be terrific.
Well I agree with that and I'm not debating what he's going to get paid. He gets paid based on the numbers he puts up and I suppose also based on his age. Whether or not they make him a superstar is another issue.
He had 25+ PER and a top ten level rating in Net Per on 82games (for players with a reasonable amount of minutes). You can rank him outside of the Superstar tier that doesn't take him out of the top ten. If you start ranking players on David Lee's or Boozer's tier above him, I'll be disappointed with you. Aside from LeBron, Paul, Durant, Wade, Howard, Bryant, Dirk, and an aging Duncan (don't know about next year), who else is above him? He has 28.2 own per and allows 18. He's a Super Stoudemire, the Raptors suck because almost all of their other players have negative net value.
I don't know what PER is or how you rank players. My opinion is based on watching him a few hundred times and comparing him to other players I see. Unscientific and subjective. He has definitely been below several players based on when I've seen them go head to head including Gasol, Randolph, Wallace (retired), Boozer, etc.
With respect to your Stoudemire comparison, he is not as dominant offensively (Stoudamire can score at will, Bosh is a pick-and-pop/face-up specialist, left hand dominant, and struggles against anyone who puts a body on him and doesn't foul him). Defensively they are about equal as neither of them try very hard at all.
