from another board quoting his agent per a wiki blurb, have no idea if this has any legs, just giving aheads up

Plus Joel Freeland mysteriously yesterday is now not playing for GB's team in big summer Euro tourney. Maybe something with Rudy's rights to the Europe team he plays for and they release him with no buyout so he can be signed by Portland? Hmmmmm

Lots of Q's guys, but no answers.

Look at last sentence of "NBA" section in link

    Re: Koponed signed?

    I need a cap geek.

Does signing him make any difference regarding a trade? I don't think so, but I want clarification. If not I doubt this is accurate. Then again, It would shock the hell out of me if Miller and Rudy were back, and assuming we trade for a PG/combo guy....I will use Monta Ellis for shits and giggles, and include Bayless in the deal to make salaries work.....that leaves Ellis, Roy, Williams, Johnson?, Mills?, Koponen? I guess that makes some sense

    Re: Koponed signed?

Signing him absolutely makes a difference, it means he has an actual salary that factors into the 125% +100K formula and is not just "traded rights" ... if true it tells me that something is cooking.

I think anyone can add to a Wikipedia page. It will probably be deleted soon unless it appears somewhere else.

But if freshly signed, I don't think we can trade him for that set # of days.

Seems highly unlikely that wikipedia would "hear" about a signing before we would. Unless Petteri himself edited the page.

    Re: Koponed signed?

Can a mod change the title from "Koponed" to "Koponen"?

If we did sign him, then we already have an agreement after July 1st or July 8th to send out one if not several point guards.

Doesn't the cap hold apply in any trade, signed or not? I have no idea, so I ask.

A caphold is a only relevant for teams with cap room and their pursuit of free agents.

in trading draft picks, there are a couple of options:

First, you can trade an unsigned draft pick, and there is no value added for trade exception purposes.
Second. you can agree to a trade, and sign a pick to between 80-120% of the rookie salary slot scale, and use that salary in a trade. But only after 30 days of signing
