To be fair: Thonus is reporting a source who has previously given him good intel is reporting Bulls have LeBron. We can add this to the list of circulating rumors from potentially unreliable sources.

Hahaha at least this is the first source to give an actual date of when he's going to agree to terms with a team lol

I've been stewing on this for a while.

We don't have the cap space to sign 2x MAX FAs.

It appears Joe Johnson would sign with us and for less than MAX ($15M x 4 = $60M)

LeBron isn't meeting with us first, which may telegraph is priorities of where he wants to go (NY/NJ). Unable to sign the 2nd MAX FA to LeBron's liking, he may choose elsewhere.

Bulls are meeting with Bosh first, which has two possibilities:
    1) Offer the MAX, sign Johnson, call it a day. Rose/Johnson/Deng/Bosh/Noah.
    2) Offer CAP Space minus MAX and get laughed out of the room. Or he chooses to sign because we'd get LeBron if he says OK.

If we're really short $3M, then Bosh would have to accept $13M and change, a huge pay cut and not close enough to the MAX, I suspect.

If they're both willing to split the difference, it'd be $15M contracts for both, about $8M hit apiece in their contracts (compared to MAX).

Assuming James doesn't sign, we have two permutations that I see:
    1) Sign a G who can play next to Rose to a MAX deal, sign a PF to something close to what Johnson apparently would take.
    2) Sign Johnson and we have the MAX to offer Bosh, Amare, Boozer, or Lee.

A third option is to sign two guys to less than MAX and use the extra CAP to facilitate a trade or sign a lesser FA to expand the roster.

Yeah he's meeting with the Nets first, I don't think that means he's leaning there.

He could also want to give the Bulls time to secure that second star, or for the Cavs to pull off some miracle.

Still you need to get a little more room in the cap, and I would certainly favor you guys. You have a decent shot as it stands right now.

Yeah, I think there's very little chance our cap numbers stay the same through July 8. If Hinrich's contract can be moved, so can JJ's, Gibson's and Deng's. It's all a question of how willing the Bulls are to go over the cap when Noah and Rose come up for Free Agency.

Man, it's gotta be nice to have had the greatest player EVER and now maybe one of the best since. Unreal. Must be fun to be a Chicago fan for the past 26 years even with the bad years you could do a lot worse. Really only LA has had a better run in that same time period and now you're looking at LeBron and Rose + possibly Bosh or Johnson. Oh for Portland to be a top 10 media market.

    He also wrote this.

I'm happy when the first free agents agreed and signed contracts. Then we finally don't hear more rumors based on some sources.

My God the dude doesn't even know himself, lol.

I believe they talked to get it out of the way. Just like the Nets have their first shot at James. And they also talked about what other alternative plans are in order.
