    Hello darkness, my old friend
Dunleavy is a decent head coach. I would not want him in charge of personnel decisions.

It would definitely be time for a forum get together on the river side of the railing on the Burnside bridge if Dunleavy became GM. I wouldn't make it to said meeting because I would have drank all the bottles under the kitchen sink the minute the news broke.

"He is out as Cleveland's general manager, choosing not to re-sign his contract that was set to expire at the end of the month. The decision comes as a surprise but was made days ago, and complicates the most important offseason in team history."

Actually, the Portland public schools do "suck".

    Sorry.

Neither of those players were top draft picks.

So, how much of their very suprising Hall-of-Fame careers are due to coaching/system?

So he's able to turn low draft picks into all time greats? What a shame he stopped at just 2 players. Greg Ostertag must be spinning in his grave.

Danny Ferry spent money on Larry Hughes.

That alone should make anyone nervous.

He also stuck with Mike Brown for longer then he reasonably should have.

Interestingly the very next day the info was released that Portland had hired a headhunting firm who had already been in contact with candidates.

Dunleavy's agent is Warren LaGarie. Scratch that possibility. ;)

Pretty valid point. Especially when you look at how Milsap and Kirilenko unexpectedly blew up in Utah. And I think Boozer and Williams have surpassed expectations.

Ostertag sucked, but he sucked much more when he left Utah.

The practice facility is just off of Boone's Ferry Road. :)

Boozer was a very good player when he left Cleveland (20.8 PER in his second season there). Perhaps we should hire Cleveland's coach from those days? So, Sloan doesn't get credit for developing Boozer. Plus, I'll say that Brandon Roy has surpassed initial expectations moreso than Deron Williams. Perhaps we should hire Nate McMillan to coach the team?

    What did I miss?

You wrote (for arguments sake I think) that maybe it was Sloan's system. If it was indeed his system that made them HOF's. Why did he stop after those two?

Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen never won anything until Doc Rivers was their head coach.

Rajon Rondo was the 21st pick.

Who coaches him? Must be pretty decent.

One perk of hiring Ferry: After he screws up a personnel move, we can say, "Ferry sure missed the boat on that one."

    bwahahahhhhahaha

Man, I'm full of horrible jokes today.

We'll certainly be up a creek if this hire goes through.
