Pierce has a Player Option and apparently is going to opt out of his contract and become an unrestricted free agent.

Could he be doing what Dirk is doing in Dallas? Take less next year so he can sign for 3 or 4 more years? Of not, this may add to the frenzy

But where does he go? Pierce can play the 2....maybe he comes here? Idk how I feel about that. He is a 3 pt threat...

If I'm Danny Angst and I know that the Bulls , Heat are powering up in free agency and if Orlando makes some moves to tweak and improve then rather commit big money to Pierce on an already ageing team I blow it up and let Pierce and Allen go and rebuild.

If Miami can't get Lebron and Bosh ...then I go hard for Paul Pierce in a Michael Beasley sign and trade and spend the rest of my money on Brendan Haywood , Udonis Haslem and Ray Felton

The timeline of maturity in Wade, Pierce , Haslem and Haywood's career is about another 4 good years

With vet role players rounding out the roster you may be able to squeeze a championship out over this 4 year period if you get lucky.

In terms of what happens with Boston ... I would unload KG for Andrew Bynum and Sasha Vujacic and then see if that could be opened up into a 3 way with Kendrick Perkins ( expiring contract ) being parcelled with Sasha Vujacic ( expiring contract ) and sent off to Detroit for Tayshaun Prince ( expiring contract )

KG goes ring chasing in LA with Kobe

Pierce goes ring chasing in Miami with Wade

Jesus goes ring chasing in Chicago with Lebron, Rose and Bosh ( if we can offload Deng to the Raps in a sign and trade )

The Pistons start to rebuild around the ethos of toughness and uncompromising defense by taking Perkins as their Center

Boston has a future with Rondo, Bynum and Prince and 9 cap holds next season and say $38M in committed salary and around $20M in cap space or out to $32M in cap space if they decide Prince isn't part of a Holy Trinity ( with Rondo and Bynum ) moving forward

Bullshooter dont act like Pierce cant play the 2. He isnt quick, but he can dribble, slash, shoot, and create his own shot. He's a less athletic vince carter who can post up

Pierce was the 2 guard in Boston before they got Allen and Garnett.

It's going to be interesting to see what he does.

Another option is if he goes to LA Clippers for 3 or 4 years. Not a bad lineup of with Davis / Gordon / Pierce / Griffin / Kaman

IMO, I think Boston will rebuild on the fly, just not this drastic and maybe not this season. I believe Paul is trying to get locked in for a 4 year contract, with the first year cheaper than this next one.

Dirk is doing that, that way dallas will have about $5 mill more and he is given another 4 years. He is going from $21 mill this next season to $16 mill.

The Clippers have a nice core. Pierce in LA would not be bad.

I think it mighta been Gerald Green the season before they got those 2 cuz pierce didnt play alot of games that year. I think it was ricky davis before that. But I still believe he can play 2
