My specialty areas of knowledge regarding sports is definitely soccer and football (both NFL and college). Right after that is hockey, NASCAR and all auto racing, baseball, and then the rest, including a little guilty pleasure of professional wrestling. 10 years in Germany, 15 in Tampa, and now 9 in mid-Michigan gives me a wide array of teams I follow. Diehard fan of Werder Bremen, as well as the Lightning, Bucs and Rays. Also a big fan of the Tigers and Lions (but hate the Red Wings). I live in Midland, and head to several games a year. It's a great and fun afternoon every time, plus it gives me people I watched play to root for in the Bigs, even if most of them grow up to be Dodgers. So far, the two biggest names I've seen play are Clayton Kershaw and Carlos Santana.
Yeah, I suppose. Personally, since I'm a boring guy, it fits me well. But I worked at Northwood University for five years, and that was the general complaint from the student body, for sure.
