Oscar Robertson should be on everyone's top five list if Wilt is. Oscar was a scorer, a distributor, and a rebounder to a caliber that no one had seen before. The Big O revolutionized the guard position and dominated much in the same way Wilt did at center. Red Auerbach has referred to him as the best player that he's ever seen. When Oscar retired, not only was he the second leading scorer in league history, he was the career leader in assists as well.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (AirBlaze @ May 20 2006, 11:10 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>I put Shaq on. Personally, I think Shaq is the best player all time. After reading a book about Who's Best, Who's Better in basketball, Elliot Kalb really got me thinking Shaq is better. I just put Shaq on as number 2 because I didnt want to bother explaining to everyone why I think he's number 1.</div>Another Kobe lover discrediting Michael Jordan. Coincidence?I read that book, and Elliot Kalb is a stat whore. I love Shaq, evidenced by his #2 ranking on my list. However, he is so far from MJ it isn't funny. Michael Jordan just had the will and desire like no one in NBA history. He was a better scorer than Shaq, and was able to beat teams by himself. As much as Shaq effects teams and makes them better, he rarely gets the ball late in games due to his Free Throw shooting. MJ on the other hand, was an incredible 4th quarter scorer, one that put fear into opposing players. Again, 6 MVPs. 6 Championships. 6 Finals MVPs. I don't see anyone matching that again

Lmao, I love Michael Jordan. I used to watch Michael Jordan when I was little before I even knew Kobe Bryant's name. I used to be the biggest Chicago Bulls fan in my school. I'm not discrediting MJ.

1)The greatest player of all time is Michael Jordan, Hands down. Now we go on to the facts that back up my opnion. The guy was a scoring dynamo, Season after season he was putting up great numbers 35-37 ppg and he averaged like 40 ppg in the finals. Alls I got to say is MJ was crazy on the court all around. He tended to ball hog, SO WHAT! He needed to ball hog he had a horrible team in the Chicago bulls in his first 3 years of his career. He had no backup, No good PGS, NO GOOD SF.MJ had to do it all on the court and if you ask me ball hogging was the best thing MJ can do on the court. Now we go to the 2nd best player of all time. 2)I would have to say its Wilt, why do I say this? Wilt was a beast on the boards, He was a beastly scorer and he also was the best passing center of all time behind Divac. Some said he passed like a PG some said he had easy competition. Why is that? He had Bill Russell in his time era, He had many other good players in his time era it?s the same BS for Shaq.Theres no centers now and days that can match up to shaq but there were centers that were able to match up against wilt. It?s pointless to say that Shaqs competion was harder. He did have some in his early years like David Robinson.Hakeem etc but still his competition now is nothing special. The only person that can really match up to shaq is Yao Ming, and he?s not even tough enough to block shaqs shots. So I say the only center that can even stop shaq physically now is freaking ben wallace who is only 6\\\\\\\'9.So we say Wilt has easier competion out of stupidety don?t we but he didn?t he had just as bad comeption as shaq did and he destroyed everyone in his era posting up as high as 50 ppg even set a career high of 100 points. 3)Now the 3rd best player of all time calls to Magic Johnson.Hes an amazing player, he can shoot the ball, He was the greatest passer of all time behind John Stockton and he was able to rebound the ball. In his first playoff appearance(Rookie year)he posted up 5 triple doubles replacing a top center in Kareem and leading his team to a title that year.Theres not much more great things to say about Magic that already has been said.Hes was a disgusting player and hes definitely top 5.4)Number 4 goes to Larry Bird. He rivaled Magic and evens stolid Magic?s rookie of the year award but Larry had other attributes that Magic didn?t have. Larry was a SF and was the greatest clutch player of all time behind Reggie Miller and MJ.Larry was also a 3 point dynamo. Winning 3 straight three point competions setting a NBA record. Larry Bird also was a rebound dynamo at 6\\\\\\\'10 Larry averaged around 10 rebounds per game for his carrer, he also carried his Celtics to 3 NBA titles, won 3 straight MVPS.What more can you ask from the greatest Celtic player of all time.5)5th is Oscar Robertson.Hes one of the greatest all around players of all time and was the first player and only player to average a triple double. His record still stands. He also won 2 NBA champions with Lew Alcindor aka Kareem.A

You have to give it up for that.

Just my opinion, this thread is a cool thought but a terrible place to post it at because most of the people that post here just barely saw Jordan's last 2 years in the NBA. Guys like Bird, Magic, Wilt, Russell, Kareem - way over our heads.
