Okay, so a few days ago we had Lebron and Bosh coming to the Bulls as a done deal, now they’re headed to Miami. We’re also 100% sure that we’re 50% sure Lebron is staying in Cleveland. Which crazy rumor will be next? As much as Tech is plugged in, even he admits its impossible for any person to say who is going where as “fact”, its just ridiculous to claim at this point! I doubt the players have even made a decision on where to go, yet everyone wants to put their say as to what is “going to happen”. Every sports writer wants the right to say they had the first hand scoop. The problem is, we wont know for certain until Thursday and beyond, and for many NBA fans, like myself, the rumors can be torturous! We have endless scenarios pulling us in a thousand directions, one day we have Lebron, the next day he’s playing for Miami, New York, Cleveland etc… Nobody knows for sure what will happen, but one thing is certain… the Bulls need to put their very best foot forward.. and quickly. Tech has indicated to me, and as many would assume, the Bulls will meet with Bosh and Joe Johnson in the early stages of July 1st. It hasn’t been discussed much but they plan to meet with Amare Stoudemire early on as well. The Bulls hope is to have one of the three committed before meeting with LeBron. The Bulls are fairly confident they can get a committment out of Joe Johnson, with Bosh being the main prize and Amare the wild card. http://www.rumorpress.net/
I think you talk to LeBron first before you sign anyone. You could have not enough space to sign him even if he decided to sign with us, but wants MAX.
Well, you don't have to sign LeBron, just get a promise he'll sign at a certain price. Then you know how much CAP you have left. I mean it's possible James demands MAX which leaves us like $13.5M to go after other players. Maybe Boozer would sign for that. Or maybe you split it 2 or 3 ways on lesser guys.
I am as well, especially given how much he wants to make and KC's comments. But even if they're not that interested it's always good to talk. He would certainly bring some firepower to our inside game.
You know, I think this rumor may be connected to the rumor about Toronto not being interested in Deng. Deng's contact is actually pretty reasonable, especially when you consider that Joe Johnson is going to be paid the max. It's relatively easy to make the argument that Deng is a better player. More than that, he seems to fit the Coangelo mold of players that are versatile, can play multiple positions, and are fundamentally skilled. If the Bulls want to increase their leverage against Toronto, and Bosh is demanding a sign and trade, then they have to look at other options to weaken the Raptors' bargaining power. If pressure isn't coming from Bosh -- he's not threatening to leave and sign outright -- the Bulls have to make the Raptors think there is a possibility that they sign Amare.
I am beginning to think the Bulls may include Noah in a sign and trade, especially if getting LeBron here will hinge on getting Bosh. I dont like it, but for them to take Deng back in a s & t, Noah may have to go.
