    Meanwhile, they're trying to trade Al Jefferson because he's overpaid and doesn't mesh well with KLove in the froncourt. But they met with David Lee anyway, possibly just as bad of a match. He probably realized that and said, might as well lock Darko up early now before he goes back to Europe.

    He's worse than Isiah Thomas.

    $5 mil for a young center that can put up 8/6 off the bench and play decent D on a team that has no other centers isn't that bad.

    It may pay dividends to sit back and watch all the over-spenders blow their money in the beginning, and scoop up a bargain with the MLE next month....

    In a league where Anderson Varejao gets a $48mil deal and Drew Gooden can get a $32 mil deal, $20 for a guy who can D up and score points from the center position is very reasonable.

    I bet he will put up double double numbers this year. Keep an eye on him for fantasy.

    I have an alternate take. Be wary of guys who don't love the game and have concentration issues putting up a decent-ish season in a contract year ...
