    Blazers trade
    $7,405,300 Pryzbilla (expiring)
    $7,269,264 Miller (team option 2011-2012)
    $6,796,524 Oden
    $2,292,600 Bayless (team option 2011-2012)
    $1,196,760 Batum (team option 2011-2012)

    $24,960,448
    _________________________________________________________________________________

    Hornets trade
    $14,940,152 Paul
    $11,540,375 Okafor

    $26,480,527
    _________________________________________________________________________________

    Which would leave us with

    Paul/Williams/Johnson
    Roy/Rudy
    Babbitt/Cunningham
    Aldridge/Pendergraph
    Okafor/Camby

I would make a push for another small forward. I think our frontcourt would be fine with Aldridge, Okafor, and Camby splitting minutes between the two frontcourt spots. I would like to hold onto Rudy just to see if last season was a fluke. I also think he would do better with Paul.

I would either go for Morrow, or sign Matthews and try to trade Rudy for a small forward.

That was my offer prior to the draft. And I agree that SF would be a weak spot. We would still have our MLE to fill that void.

I would do this deal. No ides from me because this is a similar trade I would do. Of course, I would explore trying to trade Aldridge before Oden, but I just don't think the Hornets bite on Aldridge. Horrible contract and fit next to West.

Are the numbers wrong on Trade Machine? Here's one that's like yours that works on that. (Can swap Joel for Andre because they have identical salaries, but Trade Machine won't let you trade Joel yet.)

[Edit: huge difference between yours and mine: Oden. I like mine much better!]

Just noticed Oden in there. I would not trade Oden for Paul. Not even straight up. Call me insane if you like, but Chris Paul is still barely 6 feet tall, and Oden is still a monster. And Paul takes away from Brandon, whereas Oden adds.

I am not playing with the trade machine until Paul Allen pays me at least $800K a year.

There. Sand. Line. Cross it if you want.

Oden was included in the OP's trade hence I give it a thumbs down. Oden could become a 25 PER guy with CP3 feeding him. No joke I'm saying Oden to top 10 players in the league overnight. Really no ceiling for him if healthy with Roy and CP3.

I would trade Oden STRAIGHT ACROSS for Paul. But that's it. I don't think you're nuts at all. Oden healthy could be a top 10 player. Oden healthy with CP3 I have zero doubt he's a top ten player and we are challenging the Lakers for Western Championship. Period.

ESPN trade machine is teh garbage.

Why can't they stay current? I mean how fucking hard is that and why haven't they incorporated bypass of trade restrictions.

I mean why the fuck do I need to wait until July 1st to trade Joel, oh wait I STILL can't trade him cause he's not gonna opt in...right ESPN? WTF OVER?

That said I know the board appreciates each and every barrier to bat-shit insane trades they can throw in my way. :D

Well, that's what the trade hinges on.... do you stay with Oden and hope for the best, or do you trade for a future HOFer in Paul? I would cut bait and add Paul to our core. I think Paul would make Aldridge and Roy that much better, and I think we can put a couple more pieces around our core to get us to the next level.

Is this sacrilege: I think I'd prefer to give up Roy by himself than Batum and Oden. Because Paul with a a frontcourt of Batum, Aldridge and Oden would be awesome, and Rudy might even be good running alongside Paul (and if not, there's always role-player defend-and-hit-open-three types like Raja Bell available).

But they're trying to cut salary, do you think they would trade for Roy? I said I'd do a Roy for Paul swap last season, but I'm not sure they would do it.

Not really, but if we were getting Paul, I'd think the whole rationale behind acquiring him would be to combine a top 5 player with a top 10 player to comprise the best back court in the NBA.

Roy makes (or will make) almost identical money to Chris Paul and for 1 more year. Wouldn't they be better off just hanging on to him?

    Hello darkness, my old friend
I can't trade Oden and Batum. Even for Paul. It must be a mental block...my mind won't process dealing both away. I'm sorry.

Batum I can handle dealing away. If it were Oden straight up for Paul, I might bite the bullet and do it. Not both.

I want to live in a world where we can keep Roy, Oden and Batum and still get Paul. Aldridge can go. As can Bayless. Miller also. I like all of them, but I can let them go.

Man, I cannot be a GM. Oden and Batum for Paul should be acceptable. Paul is the best point guard since Magic Johnson. Argh.

I would do it due to Roy's knees. So maybe it's sacrilege, but I'm on board. Keeping Oden, Batum and LMA is juuiiiicccyyyy.
