    Steve Blake >>>>>>>>>>>> Earl Watson

    Watson >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Farmar

I'm just glad Farmar is gone. Anyone would be an upgrade over him at point.

Fish wants closer to $5 mill a year, Lakers' want around $2.5 mill.

    I think it'll be about $3.5 mill.

Steve Blake killed you for years with Portland. If you can't beat 'em, sign 'em.

The players the Lakers are targeting are Watson, Blake and Raja Bell. They also don't expect DJ MBenga back according to John Ireland unless he takes a paycut. They want to bring back Powell, Fisher & SB3.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the Lakers called point guard Derek Fisher Wednesday night and hope to re-sign the 14-year veteran.
Fisher made about $5 million this past season and reportedly the Lakers plan to offer him about $2.5 million for next season.

    Sounds about right to me.

    Re: PG Watch thread

If the Bobcats have interest in bringing Raymond Felton back to Charlotte, it looks like they'll have plenty of competition.

According to Yahoo! Sports, "Felton received calls from New York, Miami, Indiana, New Jersey, Dallas and Memphis at the beginning of free agency, a source said. Felton is viewed as the best point guard available in free agency. While the Los Angeles Lakers are looking for a point guard, Felton is expected to command more than the midlevel exception and is likely out the Lakers' range."

It's possible that some of these teams targeting Felton -- like the Pacers, who are in desperate need of a point guard -- could snag Jordan Farmar instead if Felton signs elsewhere.

Teams lining up for Jordan Farmar, no wonder the Lakers didn't try to keep him, he was too expensive ;)

G-State restricted free agent Anthony Morrow has slew of interest, including Spurs, Celtics, Lakers, Blazers, Clips and Jazz, sources say.

I'm not going to lie, I thought a Fisher deal would've been done come day 1 of FA.

    Re: PG Watch thread

According to Chad Ford, the Lakers' 1st FA target is Steve Blake and their throwing their MLE @ him.

They are also trying to lure Raja Bell with the league minimum.

Also, changed thread to Free Agency watch and stickied it. (sounds dirty!)

I've got a gut feeling Tmac is going to be a Laker for the vet minimum. He tweeted about Laker fans' giving him some serious love.

I think he'd be willing to take the vet minimum. If he can stay healthy, he'd be a nice sub for Kobe. I think it comes down to him or Brown, though.

    Fisher/Brown or Blake
    Kobe/Sasha
    Artest/Tmac
    Gasol/Odom
    Bynum/Mbenga (mainly Odom, though)

Would he be cool with a bench role?

I'm trying to figure out why Buss is penny pinching and teams who are allegedly 'losing millions' are out their spending like crazy. Those contracts Gooden, Darko, and Salmons signed really make you wonder. The Lakers reported they made $15M last year in profit. Something is not adding up that's for certain.

It's funny the Pacers are looking at Farmar and we are looking at Watson.

Steve Blake is a good target for us no doubt.

    Re: Free Agency Watch Thread

I've read multiple reports the Lakers made $25 million last year in profit, Shape.

I don't think it is Jerry, I think it is Jim. Jerry has never been tight with his money as long as it produced a winner. I think Jimmy boy is starting to get scared about how much is going to be left for him when his dad kicks the can. Oh poor kid, only $25 million profit last season. Fuck off, Jimmy!

When it all boils down, I think we'll use our MLE and a vet minimum or two. Reports were we wouldn't use our MLE last year, look what it got us? I'd love Steve Blake on this team, TBH. Re-sign Fish, cut his minutes, and sign Blake, let Shannon walk, sign Raja Bell or Tmac...would be a good off-season IMO.

According to Brad Miller's agent, he presented Miller to the Lakers'. It would probably take the full MLE to get him but I don't think I'd mind it. It keeps Odom and Gasol strictly @ the PF spot. Miller would be awesome in the triangle.
