This is really a random thread, and I don't have any statistics with me, but do you with the so-called "African"-Americans are really just Americans? I think this could turn into a really big debate...1. African-Americans would really be the child of a slave, and if you went all the way down the family tree, those people with African ancestors could be labeled something such as "African-American-American."2. Rappers always talk about black power, Panther power, etc., but in reality, they don't have any culture of their own from Africa anymore, and rich rappers live a white man's life.3. When people sag, wear durags, etc., I kind-of get scared of them, but not because of their race. I see those type of people as "failures to society," not something who's trying to act "black." 4. Many rappers claim that black people are always put in jail and cops beat on black people and all, and then they go out chanting Panther Power, black power, something of the sort! I listen to some rap, but I still find that very contradictory.5. The thing I really hate about America (no offense) is that it never tries to find justice in religion. I find it hard to believe that black people, even though they claim they're Christian, always to bad things, then ask for forgiveness.I'm not sure how much attention this will spark, but I wanted to get your opinion on black society in America.
Ahhh, here we go, me as a black person, i hate the word "african american" seriusly, look at it this way, ive never been to africa, my parents arent from africa, you are just as african as me, i meen everyone is a little african becuz thats were the first people came fromand fabolous, i really really am tired of your comments...
They don't keep their culture but they are still just as good as us. Some of them do, not all. Well I think it's good that they don't want to be disrespected with the N word. I as an Iranian hate it when people call me "A terrorist" or an "arab" there's nothing wrong with being an Arab but i'm not, and i'm sure that all peoples feel the same..
Yeah, I'm not even Arab, I'm Pakistani, and people sometimes call me terrorist and Arab.That's a lot worse than nigg3r because Muslims or Arabs don't call eachother Arab and crap, but lots of people call their friends nigg3r.

No. Most Africans living in America don't give a crap about their formal African culture. They don't dress like Africans, dont do tribal dances, most dont practice the same religions. The Blacks in America have a very different culture from the past and present Blacks living in Africa. That's how I'll put it.
And they shouldn't, they have been disconnected from Africa for a very long time...Most black people in this country don't give a sh*t what happens in Africa because other than being black they have no connection there much like I have little connection to Germany.

The only reason ppl are probly scared of me is cause of my arched eyebrows and low asian like eyes. So basically u are saying i am a failure to society. I know others who actually wear durags and such, and are very smart and contributive. #1.. That can be true but! African Americans have evolved as one said about cultures above. As long as we Black(with traces of African culture), start wearing something like durags or saggy clothes, it is an evolution of culture. can we blame those who forcibly converted the african americans to christianity and took them away from their homeland. Geography, History, and Religion are the 3 main factors of culture and when you take all 3 away....
