Anthony Morrow is finding his market to include several suitors. The Los Angeles Lakers, San Antonio Spurs, Boston Celtics, Portland Trail Blazers, Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Clippers have all contacted Morrow. Morrow is a restricted free agent, which will give Golden State an opportunity to match any offer sheet he signs. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=ys-freeagentbuzz070110
Yeah, Morrow is the best reasonably-priced shooter available. I'm not sure what we could get back for him, though, or if another team might just sign him for more than we're willing to take back. The other decent free agent wings in the midlevel range are Mike Miller, Wesley Matthews and John Salmons, but Morrow is a better shooter than all of them, despite being a more limited player otherwise. He should see something above the $4 million range, considering Kyle Korver got $5 million per season when he was signed.
I better not have to change my signature. I don't want to see Morrow go, it's too early in his career to let that type of shooter get away. Of course, is he worth $4-5 mils per year right now? That's hard to say...
Given the way teams are doling out MLE contracts I wouldn't be surprised if he gets an offer too high to even S&T him, let alone match.
Yeah, I don't know if it was injuries, or just the coach's decision, but he played only 15-20 minutes a night even when the Warriors were heavily injured. I never really figured it out. I wouldn't say he's worth more a full MLE, but if he was available at half of it, or around a Azubuike salary, that'd be a fair deal. I also forgot that J.J. Reddick is a free agent, he's had some subpar seasons but he was pretty decent in the finals. Can't forget to mention him in that competition though, maybe enough supply means that the price will drop? I'm not sure so far with this crazy offseason.
