    "The Gunners are eyeing a move for £10m-rated Germany defender Per Mertesacker and are already close to finalising an £8.5m deal for defender Laurent Koscielny from French club Lorient."

    Mertesacker is a pretty great defender who also happens to be enormous.

    He looked solid today vs the argies. We need a tall CB to defend the crosses. I approve of this buy.

    Bremen is going to put a big price tag on the big defender once the WC is done. I doubt they will sell.

    Thing is, most good german players don't leave their country, they usually end up playing for Bayern. I agree, bremen will go high on his price.
