If LeBron is ok with Boozer, yes. Korver would be a welcome asset. We need shooters.

Definitely, take terrible contracts if it means getting Bron.

While the Bulls are in a great position to develop their players, they're also not title contenders yet. They have to make one or two big moves and then they can start relying on their guys.

I definitely want him and would trade for him. I'm just pointing out the price is really high if he's all we get. See the list of players I made who we got rid of to have the cap flexibility to get him.

It's easier to think of it as 2 trades.

Deng for Hedo works all by itself as a trade.

Bosh for a 2nd round pick works all by itself as a trade. Bulls can send as much as Bosh makes x 125% + $100K.

However the math doesn't help us.

    Deng 11.4M
    - Hedo 9.8M
    = 1.6M

1.6M is not enough cap to sign a 2nd MAX FA

    Taj makes $1.1M
$1.1M + $1.6M = $2.7M added to the ~$30M in cap space I think we have gets us to $32.7M. We have 2 guys going out, 2 coming in, so the cap hold situation doesn't change.

    $16.8M is the MAX
    x2 = $33.6M

So we're shy $900K, it seems.

If one FA would take $900K less, we're good. If two FAs would take $450K less each, we're good.

Awesome analysis. Thanks. Maybe we could include JJ, and then we would be there.

They have to be willing to take JJ.

Maybe the Bulls can send over some of their PR pieces they sent out last summer after drafting him. Who wouldn't want him?

They can trade this year's and next year's pick. Remember they made the pick the pick, French Center Guy it's technically still our player. What the Bulls can't do is trade two consecutive picks before draft day.

"This year" being the next pick coming up.

You're right, because, duh, this years' pick is going to Washington. My bad.

We went through this 2x picks in a row scenario on another site, a few years back :)

You are right that this past #1 no longer counts, so we can trade the next upcoming one, but not that one and the one after.

But we do have Charlotte's 1st, so maybe we can after all, as long as we don't try to trade all 3.

It really is about Bosh. Miami doesn't have the space for the other max FA either. So the most likely scenario is that Bosh takes the hit in the first five years, but gets the 6th year while the other FA gets 5 max years. That is, if Bosh wants to play with LBJ or Wade.

And I'd much rather have Wade and Deng than LBJ and Turkoglu. Hedo looks done. And how many Point Guard/Forwards can a team have?...
