From Pritchslapping to Super-Pfund, ugh. He better deliver or that name might stick.

Edit: Upon cursory review, after mandated "out of ass talking" He doesn't look too bad per the link. Might just be Riley doing the heavy lifting though.

The number of potential Pfund jokes compared to Ferry jokes makes him a better signing. Let's get em!

I wonder if we can get him out of the clause in his Heat contract that stipulates he has to give Pat Riley footrubs thrice daily?

If Pfund doesn't scream "Yes Man", I don't know who does.

And for the record, he is just like Patterson and Nash--someone who has been out of the League for a few years and wants back in. He can't get a great job, so he'll settle for ours.

He's been out of the league for two years, Nash was more like 8 ... and he was actively looking for a gig last summer. Then again if the Wolves passed on him for David Kahn, I'm not sure if that says more about Minny or Pfund.

I think it speaks more about the attractiveness of this job.

I go back and forth, it seems like the kind of gig with massive plusses and major red flags. I think it's going take somebody with either a major resistance to bullshit, or somebody desperate -- hopefully they are desperate, resistant to bullshit AND talented. (Am I asking for too much?)

I'm desperate. I put up with folks on this forum...damn what was that last one again.

    Oh right, talent.

Did I mention that I'm REALLY desperate to land a GM job and Portland would be ideal due to the short commute?

I think it's an improvement over Ferry. His resume of transactions is better in my opinion...but not by much. Collecting a bunch of over-the-hill all stars isnt that impressive. Most of them were free agents, already past their lucrative deals, just looking for a place to win a championship. I think a lot of GMs could swing that.

I wonder if he's better connected than Ferry? That might be advantageous. If they just bring in a guy to solely work the phones and gather intel, while leaving the real player evaluations to our crack-scout team, then this might be okay. I'd still rather bring in a number cruncher, capologist though with a good reputation around the league. Griffin sounds okay at this point.

You do realize that Pfund was the guy that identified and insisted on D-Wade when that team needed a big right? He knows talent just fine on his own.

That teamneeded talent in any size. He gets no special credit for picking best player available. He probably does know talent just fine, but I think Allen should take special care to bring in someone who wont disturb things that arent broken. That's what I'm leery of.
