No he's not. Shaq's a great teammate and has always put his team first ahead of everything.

No he hasn't. He divides locker rooms and doesn't stay in shape. If he was a great teammate the Lakers would have re-signed him.

Stay in shape??? What??? Shaq is known for having one of the most rigorous training regimes in the entire league. He has his own chef to make sure he stays on top of his diet which consists of broccoli, tomatoes, and tofu. Shaq has always been one of the best conditioned athletes in the entire league and everyone knows he will play through any pain or injury because he loves the game of basketball.

He must do a fantastic job of hiding junk food around the house.

Free-agent point guard Steve Blake has reached agreement on a four-year, $16 million contract with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Before the Lakers secured a commitment from Blake, general manager Mitch Kupchak had Bucks point guard Luke Ridnour willing to take a four-year, $12 million offer, a league source says. The Lakers then gave Blake a deadline of Friday afternoon to accept their four-year, $16 million offer.

Once Blake did, the Lakers obtained the kind of savvy point guard to eventually transition from Derek Fisher.

Blake broke the news of his agreement on the radio show of Oregonian columnist John Canzano.

Blake was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers by the Portland Trail Blazers in February and averaged 6.8 points and 6.1 points in 29 games for them.

im happy to see the lakers organisation on thier toes this offseason. i still hope they give miller a shot, if anything he would be a good option as a backup to kobe as he can score. id also like to see kyle korver, we'll see soon i guess.

Fisher is going to look @ other teams, starting with the Cavs.

He wants a 2 year, $10 million deal. Right now, no team is going to give him that.

Also, Mike Miller is still very possible if the Wizards want to sign and trade him for Odom + filler, or Sasha's expiring, picks, etc...

The Lakers are willing to give Fisher a 2-year deal, but not for $10 million. We're talking probably closer to $6.5-7 million.

I've got a weird feeling that Chicago is going to lose out in this whole ordeal.

I think Wade and Bosh end up in Miami, I just can't see Wade leaving Miami. Bosh and Wade seem like great friends, too.

As for LeBron, I think he stays in Cleveland (that extra $30 million they can pay him is HUGE + he's going to get marketing money no matter where the hell he goes) or goes to Brooklyn.

Glad we landed Blake. I'd like to see Fisher back so we can have a solid back-up PG, and since he's phenomenal in the locker room. Now we just need to find a way to convince Washington to take Sasha + filler for Mike Miller in a S&T, haha.

After Blake signs, we might have part of the MLE left and can always sign players for the minimum after that. I don't think we have any other ways of signing, but I could be wrong.

    Bird rights and LLE right?
I think we still have a shot at Raja Bell if he really wants a championship
I would love to pick up Ian Mahinmi if we can for cheap as Josh Powell with potential

Re: Free Agency Watch Thread (Lakers sign Blake, will pursue Bell after signing Fishe

If we sign both Fish & Raja that's a successful offseason for Mitch given what little he was allowed to work with. He upgrades our back court, but we lose youth, speed & athleticism. I wonder who they go after to replace Mbenga and Powell.
