Paul LaPolice has been preaching to his players since Day 1 that they were going to face adversity.

Good thing, too, because you can’t get any better adversity than giving up a touchdown on the first play of the season, which happened to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Friday night when Hamilton Tiger-Cats returner Marcus Thigpen took the opening kickoff to the house.

The Bombers simply shrugged their shoulders, got right back up off the mat and proceeded to thump the Tabbies 49-29 to kick off the LaPolice-Joe Mack-Buck Pierce era in style.
