The Chicago Bulls group led by owner Jerry Reinsdorf, vice president of basketball operations John Paxson, general manager Gar Forman, and coach Tom Thibodeau left their meeting with LeBron James and his associates on Saturday in an optimistic mood. After meeting with James for nearly three hours, the Bulls contingent departed the IMG parking garage in two SUVs. A crowd of fans booed as the SUVs wheeled off and headed back to the Bulls' hotel. Once the Bulls arrived back at their hotel, Paxson was succinct when asked about the meeting. "It was good," said Paxson to The Plain Dealer. I've been on vacation for the last week in a land far away, where I didn't even get much cell-phone reception (Michigan), so all I saw of this was the clip of Jerry, Pax, Thibs and Gar walking in to talk to Lebron on ESPN, and they omitted Gar's name from the discussion. I chuckled to myself about that. But really, there's nothing else to do at this point but sit on our asses and hope for the best. And be very, very happy that, no matter what happens, Joe Johnson appears to be out of the picture.
