As we all know, Cain Velasquez is going to square off against Brock Lesnar. I'll be a shitload that it'll probably be the main event of the NYE card if both fighters stay healthy.

According to Dana, the winner of Junior Dos Santos/Roy Nelson will then get a title shot against the winner of Cain and Brock.

This leaves Carwin, Mir, and other HW's @ the bottom of the contending pool, but all have a good chance of working their way back up.

How do you guys see the HW division panning out over the next year? Will Carwin get another shot by then? Mir/Brock III happen?

I can't see Lesnar/Mir III happening. Lesnar essentially kicked the shit out of Mir for everything but three or four seconds of the first two fights. He'll have to win three or four straight to get back into contention.

I think we're going to see Cro Cop vs. Nogueira soon.

Awesome fight but I hope it is a Co main event, not a headliner.

What do you think is next for Carwin?

I think Carwin will eventually work his way back up, two quality wins would probably do it. Maybe one fight while Brock fights Cain and then if he wins that interim fight, he fights the loser of Brock/Cain while the winner fights the winner of JDS/Big Country.

This is a puzzler. JDS/Nelson are booked, Cain is booked, already beat the piss out of Mir and Gonzaga. Nog fits as far as the fact that hes coming off a loss but I don't think thats a fight the UFC can sell. Kongo and Rothwell could be options despite being below Carwin's level and coming off of wins. I suppose JDS/Nelson isn't that far off and with Mir and Big Nog not lined up for any fights they can sort it all out after 117.
