Source briefed on meeting with Bulls Friday tells Y! that Dwyane Wade's interest in Chicago is "for real," and "There's still LeBron hope."

To counter what wojo said, read this:

Spoke with an agent who is very tuned in. He laughed off Wade departure concerns. "It's all a smokescreen," the reputable agent said.

I read this and think about how Wade was talking all about how the Bulls weren't loyal to their stars. Apparently, loyalty is pretty variable when there's $120M on the line. And likewise, hey, Wade is good enough that even Jerry will take that talk laying down :)

I'm not so sold on Wade. He's 28 and he's got the kind of game that he takes a beating. Lot of miles already on that body.

Don't get me wrong, we'll see an immediate return. But the other guys are like 25 and give us a much bigger window.

I agree, but he's about 600x better than Joe Johnson.

I don't think there is a realistic shot Wade leaves Miami. He is God to that franchise.

So let me sum up your position: you like Joe Johnson, who's a year older? And it's a bulls failure if they don't get anybody but LBJ? Bosh is 26 and he's too old and the bulls will have given up too much?

I don't like Joe Johnson as a FA signing. I don't like Bosh as our ONLY FA signing, but he's plenty young enough.

You never sum up my position :)

Forget about Johnson. He has agreed in principle to the $119 mill offered by the Hawks

The signing makes me both relieved and anxious. Any one else happy we didn't sign him for that type of contract?

I think it a good sign for the Bulls. We are confident enough in our chances of getting 1 of the top 3 if not two of the top three that we didnt make an effort to get the only real player that made no secret of the fact he wanted to sign with us.

Wow, what does Al Horford ask for if Joe Johnson is getting 6/$120? They've got 9 guys signed and are basically at the LT depending on how Josh Childress is factored in. Crawford comes up for a deal next year, too.

And Boozer is basically a max guy now, too.

Well, we shall see. The other answer for this is that the Hawks put up more money than anyone expected and the Bulls weren't willing to match.

The bulls never had a chance to match really. They would have had to get a sign and trade done to give Johnson that deal. I'm also glad to see Amare in NY, another bullet dodged.

could be, SST, but I have a feeling, Joe would have come to us for less. Maybe I'm wrong.

I'm glad we didn't sign Joe Johnson

I think I would rather get a blowjob from a big boned girl with braces

By the way, I'm happy to report there are absolutely no restrictions on Palacio/felatio references here.

More importantly, I'll go out on a limb and predict a first round exit for the Hawks and one of their main guys leaving.
