Was just thinking that this morning. Carwin PUNKED him standing up. Fedor wouldn't have blown his load throwing (and missing) a lot of those GnP shots and he wouldn't have gotten submitted so easily (lol well after the Werdum fight...).
What I love are the keyboard warriors on other sites who are now screeching "Carwin is a can, I knew it all along!" Gee folks, does it cross your minds that maybe Lesnar is pretty good? It has gotten to the point that about one trip to Curdog a month is all I can stand.
I think Carwin has more raw power in that he can throw what looks like a weak punch or a short punch but it can lay guys out. If he touches you you're going to get rocked. Hes got a ton of power even in the clinch with short uppercuts. OTOH Fedor swings fucking HARD pretty much every time he throws a punch. Hes pretty wild but if he lands- which he is pretty good at- the fight is pretty much over. Yeah, I'd say Carwin is more powerful but that doesn't mean Fedor's power doesn't command respect. Fedor is probably harder to take down, better on the ground, better killer instinct, more experienced, etc. than Carwin. And oldmangrouch, yeah you've gotta give props to Lesnar for displaying the perseverance of a champion. Carwin had a golden opportunity to finish and outclassed Lesnar in the standup. Lesnar was able to survive and fought smart in the second getting a quick takedown and showing great versatility getting that choke in. Lesnar was a lot more bearable in this fight as well because I think he was genuine in saying he was a humbled champion. The Mir-Lesnar rivalry probably also brought out the worst in both of them and turns a lot of fans off. Lesnar was a lot more likable in this fight. Carwin fucked it up but damn he had Lesnar running from him lol.
