Does Miami have nearly enough to sign 3 MAX FAs like reported? Sounds like Wade would be one of them.

Yet to sign him to 6 year deal, don't they need to have his Bird Rights? If they haven't renounced their Bird Rights, isn't Wade a HUGE cap hold against the Heat?

Riley wanted to split the money among all three. That didnt go very far.

Doesn't answer my question. And the article may be wrong about Miami's situation if they have a cap hold for Wade's Bird Rights.

    Though it does say:

Maximum cap room: 1.67 MCs (with Wade re-signed); 2.64 MCs (if Wade leaves)

So they gain back less than a max contract if their max contract player leaves.

Yes there is a cap hold. No they haven't renounced it. But they are going to sign Wade and FA X about ten minutes apart, so the question is basically a moot point. Unless you are wondering if they are trying to hamstring Wade by singing LBJ and Bosh to max deals without Wade's knowledge. No, they can't do that until they renounce Wade.

I think in Wade's case the cap hold is just equal to the max salary

I think this is true. So it doesn't cost Miami anything to not renounce his rights.
