He outplays Duncan head to head regularly he just doesn't bring it like that every night. He also can beat West fairly often. He's certainly better then Gay. Obviously Melo, Dirk, Durant, Gasol (really a C) and possibly Millsap are all better.
I wonder if NOH would have any interest in LMA with West on board. I still say take out LMA, throw in Camby and take back CP3 and Okafor. Your Miller/Rudy trade for Lee seems really balanced and makes sense for both teams. PG: CP3/Johnson SG: Roy/Williams SF: Wesley (MLE)/Babbit/Posey PF:LMA/ Lee/Okafor C: Oden/Lee/Okafor looks delicious and is plausible as NOH is in salary hell and CP3 has signaled his discontent. LMA would benefit almost as much as Oden from CP3. LMA runs like a Gazelle and Cp3 LOVES the Open court with Lee and Oden in there you could definitely run with either unit. EDIT: you needed AMEC to NOH for my trade to take back Posey AND Okafor. This wouldn't work whoops.
Yeah Miller/Rudy is a package that I think NY would seriously consider if they end up being unable to get another significant free agent to sign. Dre being on a 1yr deal is great for NY's possible 2011 cap plans of going after Melo and Parker. I was thinking that LaMarcus would have much more value going out in a trade than Camby, although your right it would be a more crowded frontcourt for the Hornets so perhaps a 3rd team could get involved. But West, LaMacus, Okafor is a very good big man rotation. I don't think they could ship us Okafor instead of Posey as the salaries would be pretty far from matching up due to LaMarcus BYC status. CP3, Roy, Lee, Camby, Oden would be a pretty freaking awesome. With that roster we would want to target guards with our MLE such as Mathews, Farmer, and Mason. A defensive 3 would help too.
NY would have Miller/Rudy/Danilo/Amare/?... still not great but better then last year and very flexible for next offseason. NOH would have Collision/Bayless/Batum/West/Aldridge/Okafor and save a few dollars. There is mutual benefit for all teams, but we probably benefit the most from those trades so we could send out some future picks.
They probably could have signed Lee for have as much money last year. I bet Amare' looks pretty average without Nash spoon feeding him shoots.
Huh. Seems like the Knicks just went through hell to unload Zach Randolph. Now they have an overpaid defense-less scoring power forward who doesn't rebound instead of a defense-less overpaid scoring power forward who rebounds. Progress.
It's all about Lebron still. James came out and said to get him either Amare or Bosh. NY gambled and got Amare, hoping that would get them Lebron. If not, I guess you could do worse than signing a top 2-3 PF in the league?
An interesting thought popped into my head after reading this...imagine how gawdy Zach's stats would be if he played with Steve Nash.
Why not trade Lee and filler for Nash - reunite him with Amare and Coach? Then if NY were to win the Lebron sweeps - you'd be looking good in NY. Alternatively, Wade joining Amare and Nash would look good too. This would leave Lebron and Bosh to join Chicago (a New York - Chicago series would be fun as hell to watch)
I guess that depends on if you consider Al Jefferson a PF. He plays out of postion. I also think there are several PF who it would be hard to argue him being better than. Like Luis Scola.
AJ was a center on the ballot last year I think and I will guarantee that EVERY coach in the league would rather have LA as their starting PF over Scola. After that statement, you should be banned!
Scola outplayed LaMarcus in last year’s playoffs, so no I don't agree he's vastly superior. I would lean towards LA but when you consider Scola will probably get a more reasonable $50million deal you can make a legitimate argument that he is more valuable to his team than LA.
