http://twitter.com/RicBucher/status/17901785172 Not sure where the idea Tor won't S&T w/Mia came from, but it's not true. Calderon/Bosh for Chalmers, 2 future 1sts + trade exception: done. 23 minutes ago via web RicBucher Ric Bucher
Yeah but Bosh is hesitant to sign anywhere without getting that sixth year. And Toronto can hold out for better deals, so that's kind of a stalemate.
If its a S&T then why wouldn't Bosh get the 6th year? Reports said that they would have taken a crappier offer from the Cavs earlier. Toronto gets a fat TE, dumps Calderon's big contract, and gets a couple of 1st rounders. Not a great return on Bosh but they don't have much leverage and seem to be willing to get any package of value back instead of letting him walk.
The first first is presumably Toronto's first traded in the Jermaine O'Neal deal. The second first must be Miami's which will be horrible if it is soon. So basically it's Chalmers, Toronto's lottery pick returned, a late first, and salary relief for Bosh/Calderon. Shades of the Vince Carter deal right there.
Ok so Bucher just said this deal is hypothetical and not "done" as in "done deal" just "done" as in "sounds like something they might do IMHO". A little misleading.
I wouldn't be so sure with Bucher. Could just be him spewing BS or a hypothetical scenario. But I don't think Miami would have the money for Bron assuming they're also keeping Wade. They could only have afforded all three on max contracts if they dumped Beasley and freed up a little bit of money. Adding Calderon's fatty salary makes it seem unlikely that they could ever get enough room to get all three. For whatever reason it seemed like LeBron was never too hot on playing there so I think Riley said fuck it lets just get the other two (plus Calderon). I kind of always assumed that two would go to one team and the other would form another contender with a team that already has decent pieces or another second tier FA. EDIT: Yep, typical Bucher throwing shit against the wall and seeing what sticks. Once I saw this I immediately checked if Woj at yahoosports had anything and he didn't so I figured there was no way bucher could have scooped him.
You're forgetting Chicago might be willing to give up Noah and they can get a fat TE. If these other teams are also willing to take on Hedo and/or Calderon's contract, then I can see Toronto holding out. Edit- I also hear Toronto is not happy with Miami's offer. And that they don't necessarily want a TE.
No its not done...he was mouthing off. Came back to clarify Twitter brevity raises its dangerous head once again. There is no trade between Mia + Tor. Sorry for any confusion/raised blood pressure. http://twitter.com/RicBucher He didnt say what he meant by his done statement. I took it to mean thats all it would take to get bosh. Done...
Why not throw Beasley and Hedo into that deal, too? p.s. It sucks to have Hollinger and the other ESPN goofs think up decent S&Ts all day to Miami and Cleveland.
Lol you all got pwn3d by Bucher. This guy has absolutely no credibility to me. "Kobe Bryant will not be a Laker for long. I bet my life on that."
Ric Bucher reminds me of the guy out of Die Hard 2 . The guy that was in charge of the bad guys who were busting Franco Nero loose Forget the name of the actor But he was in Shawshank Redemption as well - the one that Brooks had the knife to the throat
