and here is an interesting story about Kiki getting the axe in Denver after his "good friend" Warren Legarrie tried to leverage Stan Kroenke

Also interesting that another Legarrie palace coup was behind his downfall in New Jersey

And they're considering Kiki why exactly?

I think Canzano asked Quick this afternoon about that relationship and why they are considering Kiki. And Quick said LeGarie was no longer Kiki's agent or is representing him in any way anymore.

I heard something sort of similar on Wheel's show today, except he said that Kiki and LeGarie are "just good friends." Yeaaaaaaaah, that's it, "just friends"

After recently reading some comments from Net's minority owner Bruce Rattner, I can see why they would consider him.

He paints Kiki as loyal and obedient to a fault. Even when he was lied to and made the fall guy in NJ, he just walked away without trying to publically defend himself. Sounds like somebody Allen/Miller/the Vulcans would love.

I guess I missed those Vecsey links last Spring. Thanks, Nik. I don't see how anyone who reads the first Vecsey article will quesion why Allen fired Pritchard, since Kroenke did the same in an identical situation with Kiki.

Kiki won't be our GM. Miller just set up the usual triangle so that a sole loser isn't humiliated. This way there are two. It'll be Ferry or Pfund. Pfund is more malleable and Ferry is weirder. The Oregonian would like Pfund more, and the paper is the main customer to please in this town.

Pfund may be more malleable and the preferred choice of Jason Quick and John Canzano, but he just seems like he's more "betterer": better track record, better personality, better liked around the league, and he's the only one who has had a hand in building a champion.

We agree, Pfund's better. Although I suspect that a rookie could do well too with the advantages Allen provides. There are many good scouts like Pritchard. There must be some who also have business sense, will hold the line on contract negotiations, and can talk to media and other GMs.

I actually don't think the job is that hard, if Paul Allen is a given.
