Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh are teaming up together on the Miami Heat, according to a person with knowledge of the situation.

Whether LeBron James, the kingpin of this summer's celebrated free agent class, will join them remains to be seen. James will announce his decision Thursday night at 9 ET during a one-hour special on ESPN.

Wade and Bosh are expected to announce their decision on Wednesday, according to the source.

James or not, the Heat could emerge as one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference with Wade and Bosh aboard. Wade, who led the Heat to the NBA title in 2006, is re-signing with the club, while Bosh will leave the Toronto Raptors after seven years with the club.

Both players are expected to get the maximum amount allowable under the league's collective bargaining agreement, though the addition of James could change the players' salaries. Contracts cannot be officially signed until July 8.

It was not immediately clear whether Bosh will sign with Miami outright or join the Heat through a sign-and-trade deal. Bosh could earn $125 million over six years via sign-and-trade, but only $96 million over five without it.

"Either way, he's definitely going to Miami," the source said.

Uh oh. That's sounding pretty definitive.

I started thinking about it last night and it does seem to be the most obvious way for them to both get six year deals. I'm pretty surprised it seems to be coming down to that for Bosh, since I think the actual money he's leaving on the table is probably nowhere close to $30M, but... poop.

Also, I think if the Heat manage this via sign and trades, they'll still have their MLE to spend if they want.

    Multiple reports

The heat don't have the MLE.

You only get an MLE if adding the MLE to your salaries puts you over the cap. You can't get an MLE by signing guys to get near the cap.

I want Bucher to come back on twitter and preach to Bulls fans that Bosh wont give up $30 mill. He said 'this is not fantasy basketball'.

Well, truth is, he might do just.

Heat need more than just the two of them.

Bosh-Wade are Heat teammates now according to ESPN. Sun Sentinel learned Toronto began having concerns of Bosh signing outright on Tuesday.

This is starting to feel scripted. The whole dwade documentary thing has me thinking that bosh going to Miami was decided a long time ago. If lbj doesn't join them, look for Miami to make Beasley look good for a year and then s & t for melo next year.

Go cry into one of your SIX championship trophies. Or perhaps some gear from the greatest player of all time. A guy who's jockstrap Kobe couldn't even sniff much less lift. You guys had it all for a decade and more. You will again, you have a nice nucleus. No LeBron also means I can root for you guys :D

Wade says he had to take emotion out of it. Said he left Chi before going to Miami. Had to clear his head. Once CB4 committed, Wade in.

Wade says it's not about the $$$. He said he and CB4 willing to take less money to help Heat fill out the roster.

Naw, if he signs in Cleveland I will like him quite a bit actually. I'm just not wanting to cheer for possible Finals opposition. If Portland is knocked out or if they aren't playing Chicago, then I root for the Bulls. I actually love this young Bulls team with Noah and Rose. They were totally robbed by the refs vs Boston a year ago.

KC has a tweet that said Wade had been considering the Bulls until Bosh committed. I am not going to post the tweet. It's moot. He isnt coming so....
