Essentially you think we're getting Paul for change. Hell, if it's that easy let's trade Bayless for LaBron, Babbitt for Wade and a future second round pick for Paul. See, it's easy if we use your method!
No one thinks we're getting anything. Some, however, are postulating reasonable methods by which a Paul-to-POR trade might be accomplished. Rather than ridicule the net effect of said suggestion, why don't you make the requisite effort to identify specific aspects of the details which you believe to be unreasonable?
Really depends on what the actual salary cap figure is. Current projection is $56.1M. Wade & Bosh will each be at $16.65M, Miller at $7.27M, and Rudy at 1.25M. Factor in 6 minimum-salary cap-holds at $490K each, and that's 10 spots totaling 44.76M. At the projected cap figure, that leaves $11.34M available for the 11th player (the league minimum)--Okafor will get $11.495M next year, so they wouldn't have room for him under the current projection. If the cap comes in slightly higher, however, then they could get him as well. EDIT: just double-checked--minimum salary is $473K, but minimum roster is 12, not 11. Means Wade/Bosh/Miller/Rudy/7 spots = $45.13M, meaning the cap will actually have to come in $500K above projection to make room for Okafor.
In light of my above post regarding the salary cap, it should be noted that unless the cap comes in about $500K higher than projected, this can't happen.
With the salary cap being announced at 2 million more than expected, we're in business! Now we just need to get the 3 teams to agree...
I'd fear him too, In fact, (and thankfully, BTW,) it was his gun-aiming avatar that drove PapaG out of here!
