Tom Penn was just on SportsCenter breaking down the Heat $$$$$$ situation. Bosh and Wade will make 16.6M this season , Beasley 5M and Chalmers is set for 825K. That's it! If they get rid of Beasley, The 'Bron will also be able to make 16.6. That would leave them with 4 players under contract and only 1.8M available to spend to stay under the cap. What a fucking crazy situation! Could those 3 stars and 9 scrubs win a championship????? Penn was spittin' out facts and knowledge left and right! Wish he was still with us!

I saw the same thing early today, before they declared what the cap would be. Personally, I think the Heat are better off without James, as crazy as that sounds. Take that 16.6m and sign guys like Raymond Felton, Udonis Haslem, Mike Miller, J.J. Redick, keep Chalmers and Beasley. Back up guys would come and play for cheap just for a shot at a ring, C.J. Watson, Nate Robinson, Travis Outlaw.

He's going to New York! Just on the speculation, Madison Square Garden stock rose 6% in trading today; the value of the Knicks will rise by hundreds of millions, and MSG Cable Network advertising sales and the Team's [Knicks] revenue would increase by 10% a year.

Now think of the endorsement dollars available to Lebron by being the King of New York! If he goes to Miami, his personal "brand" will definitely be watered down - sharing the limelight with Bosh and Wade. So I would guess his potential endorsement dollars to be a third of what is waiting for him In the Big Apple (which, by the way, will be renamed "Le Apple" after his arrival!

    "Lebron Apple?"

note: considering Pat Riley trademarked "3-peat," I figure I should jump all over "Le Apple" in anticipation of Le Marketing! LOL

If you are being sarcastic you're supposed to put it in green.

As a Laker fan, I think you have probably seen first hand it only takes two stars to win a championship; two stars surrounded by quality guys. A shooter, a defender, a banger. I think Miami is better off without James, and actually surrounding Bosh and Wade with a TEAM.

Not being sarcastic at all. I completely agree with you. Having $16.6 million to sign good role players is better than having vet minimums to sign nobodies. Go after Felton and Mike Miller...

    Felton
    Wade
    Miller
    Bosh
    ???

    Lebron >>>> 3 role players

Gotcha! What a mess. They would have to have open tryouts or something. Anybody ever see The Fish That Saved Pittsburgh?

Haha. They wouldn't have to hold tryouts or sign D-League scrubs. There are plenty of guys out there how are looking for places to go and Miami just moved to the top of everyone's wish list.

    list of available players

If Miami gets these three they could scrape the bottom of the barrel of the Chinese leagues to round out their roster and they'd still be prohibitive favorites to win a title. All they have to do is scour the D-league for guys who specialize in defense or who can do nothing but stand still and shoot and they will look like world beaters with those three attracting all of the attention.

For starters who the hell do you double team?

Veteran's minimum should be enough to add a couple of guys who can play. Add a few more D League guys and... in any case, I'm sure they'll be able to figure some way to flesh out a team with 60% of the Eastern All-star starters.
