LINK Didn't we already reject their effort to obtain Batum? I like Love, though, but NOT for Batum. Kahn just seems like he doesn't know what the fuck he is doing.
Batum and Webster will not be playing for the same team next year. And they wanted Aldridge? Why even bother with this garbage?
I have to wonder if we're not hearing all of these rumors because teams are starting them knowing that there isn't as much of a PR machine functioning in Portland to counter it. Kahn is killing me though ... how many fucking small forwards does he want? And I call bullshit. Since when does "The Fan" ever talk about the Blazers? I thought all they did was talk about boxing, and MLB?
I'd be happy if they really are trying to trade for Kevin Love, but without Batum. His game, especially his passing, would fit in perfectly with Oden (if he can ever stay healthy). Love's ceiling is David Lee with a post game. His first two seasons he posted PER's of 18.3 and 20.
Webster is a SF Wesley is a SF Brewer is a SF He wants Batum, a pure SF. Love is a PF Jefferson is a PF He wants David Lee, a pure PF.
Brewer may not be close to Batum, but he is an above average defender, and we would get Flynn, who I think would look better in a non-triangle offense. Plus we get Love. For Rudy and Batum and Przy's contract. I think that is a fair deal.
I was high on Flynn coming into the draft but he just hasn't translated that well in the League. Horrible, HORRIBLE defensive player. His DRtg was 114 for the season. Flynn wouldn't start. Brewer wouldn't start. Love wouldn't start as long as we have LMA still on the roster. We give up one of our most important starters and go-to fourth quarter lock down defender in Batum. No way is that going to happen.
While the Wolves are discussing insanely ridiculous trade rumors that wont happen i'm surprised the "we turned down Roy/Oden for Love/Jefferson" hasn't come out.
Looks good to me too. I love Batum but you got to give up talent to get talent. Love is the bruising PF off the bench that everyone has been clamoring for in here.
