On the radio here in LA, all they talk about is how no one (not even Wade/Bosh/LeBron) can beat the Lakers because no one can contend with the Lakers' size.

I get so excited when I hear that because I can think of one team in the league that can match up with the Lakers big men: The Portland Trail Blazers.

If we're healthy this season, I think we have the best team in the league to beat the Lakers. Oden/Aldridge/Camby can more than handle Pau/Bynum. In fact, I think we can outplay them.

Please let us stay healthy this year. If we do, I honestly think we can win it all.

    Thoughts?

Its Odom/Pau/Bynum but yea I like our chances as long as Odom decides he only wants to beast it out every sixth game.

One of my buddies posted something about Bron to Miami on facebook, and it has since evolved into basically this discussion over the past two hours. They think I'm crazy. I keep telling them they're severely underestimating how good Oden was getting before the kneecap injury. He was starting to dominate. With Boozer and Amare going East, and the Lakers (Kobe) aging, Bynums health concerns, I agree with Kingspeed. I think our roster, as it stands, healthy, is the clearcut second best team in the West, and the only team with the size to contend with LA.

If Oden can play at the level he was at right before the injury, and we tweak our offensive scheme a bit, I honestly like our chances to win it all next year. I am VERY aware that this is a lot of ifs, but I'm of the opinion that those 3 in Miami won't turn out champagne and strawberries (if LeBron...). I actually wouldn't be surprised if they didn't make it out of the East.

C's size will be the best (if we sign couple free agents)

    KG / Perk / Big Baby / Shaq / JO'Neal

    :)

After seeing the picture of his junk, I feel comfortable saying Oden, and his size, puts Portland over the top

If it were 2002, you'd be right.

2002, Pierce, Allen, KG alone would have won the championship. (their prime)

That's how you have to beat Miami. You have to punish them inside and hope their jumpers aren't falling. It's one of the real shames about losing Przy to injury. He would have been great off the bench providing more interior defense and physicality in the low post.

However, with a three-man 4/5 rotation of Oden/LMA/Camby we should have the length to bother people, not to mention Nico at the the three.

That's good news, at least they're all staying, and hopefully no injuries this time. ;)

Jermaine O'Neal is done. Put a fork in him. Did you see him in the playoffs against your team? He had a 2.5 PER.

I'm anxious to see how Prz's rehab is going. I think he can make it back by December if everything goes well. If we get him back and the rest of the front line stays relatively healthy we'll be very difficult to beat!
