Besides Cleveland, obviously. New York, right? What have they got to look forward to now? For the past few years it's all been about this. And they end up with Amare Stoudemire for $100M, and a team that may be no better than last year's suckage.
They just got Outlaw! More to the point, they just didn't splurge on Stoudemire. And they still have an exciting new owner, at least a couple of good young players, and a move to Brooklyn coming.
I wonder what Jerry Buss is thinking about Pat Riley right now. What am I saying? Jerry Buss stopped caring about the Lakers as anything other than a money-making machine years ago...
Jesus, get some perspective. I think whatever fans teams like Memphis, Minnesota, The Clippers, et. al. have would like to give you a good slapping. And on the other hand, OKC fans aren't feeling too bad.
They made the playoffs. They stayed competitive. They did not have a cap space plan 2-3 years ago, it just happened naturally. You say a year ago they are in the LeBron sweepstakes, people would think you're crazy.
Yep. New Jersey is the biggest loser. At least NY got a player, and got themselves a nice trade with GSW for some pieces. The Nets just got nothing.
I think we took a big hit tonight. That team narrows our championship window. I think Chicago and New York are pretty crushed. And Cleveland, well what is there to say?
I always forget that on the web some parents allow their ten-year-olds to post. Thank you for reminding me. I am chastened.
I love Greg Oden. I still maintain that Oden was the right pick over Durant. But I honestly think our "championship window" was always pretty tiny. On the flip side, I happen to think that Miami is going to have to do something pretty special to surround those three with a good enough support cast (Boston only won because Rajon Rondo turned out to be amazing, and Kendrick Perkins turned into a top five defensive center). The Lakers still remain our biggest obstacle. And hey, the Suns and Jazz got a lot weaker, and Houston didn't get Bosh...
Look at it this way: KD will NEVER be better than a wing combo of LeBron + Wade. NEVER. He'll only win a ring if he plays next to a top 3 center in the league. ODEN can affect a game in other ways though through defense, drawing double teams in the post and abusing the post defenders. Potential for Oden winning is greater for KD winning, factoring in a healthy oden. haven't seen it yet but MIAMI will have zero dept at the C.
