His ego is bigger than Shaq's. He kept the entire city of Cleveland, and probably the whole state of Ohio on the edge of their seats just so he can break their hearts on national television. The guy is an attention whore. I never thought I'd say this but I actually feel kind of sorry for Cleveland and their fans. Lebron was everything to them and their city, and now he's just gonna ride on the backs of Wade/Bosh for an easy shot at the ring. So much for his "loyalty" tattoo. One thing is for certain though, his rep just took a serious hit. I know people in Cleveland probably hate him now, and probably in New York as well. I wish the Cavs the best though, they are kind of fucked. I wonder how many tickets they will sell next year with the Mo Williams / Antwan Jamison show. Lebron just abandoned the entire city and all his teammates. smh
He said he was undecided until today, and they were going to do an interview either way if he left. Even Shape agrees with me on that! ;] He was trying to convince Bosh to Cle just a couple of days ago.
What a clown. Decided to humiliate his team in front of National TV. A team that spent so much on him and embraced him dearly, only to be back stabbed by this mercenary. He could have just avoided going on TV and said he wasn't going to stay and perhaps the fans could have understood, but now after this...lol, good luck trying to come back to Cleveland.
Reports already came out that he had a big party planned and he already bought like a huge mansion in Miami yesterday. So that shit about him being undecided until today is a lie, as far as I'm concerned. Why would he plan all that in Miami if he was going to sign with a different city. It makes no sense. It's also not so much about the interview, or special he had that I dislike. Just the fact that he pretty much threw all of Cleveland under the bus and basically told his hometown to kiss his ass. He made the city lose sleep for days only to crush their hopes like this. The economy in Cleveland is absolutely destroyed because of this. Kind of sad really, even when the Miami rumors started floating around, I never actually imagined he would leave Cleveland. I was wrong.
Let's say you're a GM. I don't know about you but I have a killer instinct and would stab you in the back if it meant I could win titles in a better situation (metaphorically). Whatever the league allows I would explore those options to the maximum possibilities. That's why I like dirty play in the post-season. You can complain about it but I want to win and so does he.
I heard about the party today, but Woj said he was still contemplating. Boozer said it was between two teams, so it was still a discussion even yesterday.
I heard reports of the party yesterday. Same with the news about his mansion. I'm pretty sure he had his sights set on Miami for a long time. The "I didn't make my decision until today" is bullshit. He wouldn't have time to plan a massive party and buy a mansion in Miami if he only made his decision today.
He was trying to convince Bosh to go to Cleveland, as late as Tuesday night. They even argued a little I heard. Then Boozer was told it was between two teams, so Woj's timeline is reasonable.
Tuesday night? I'm talking about yesterday, when Bosh signed with Miami. Lebron said his decision wasn't made until today. Do you think he had the time to go out and organize a huge party in South Beach and buying a fucking mansion on top of making a decision to play for the Heat and attend his ESPN Special? Not that it's a big deal or anything, but it's pretty clear to me his statement about it being a last minute decision was a lie. He had his mind made up that he was coming to Miami before he went to bed last night.
Meh he made Cleveland wait a day longer than they thought, he still argued with Chris into Wednesday and the interview was Thursday. He did them a favor by making it on Thursday, at least it gave them a chance to move someone.
Miami traded Beasley to the Wolves for a 2nd rounder, FYI. Looks like they'll all be getting their max deals after all.
As someone who has fallen in love with the city of Cleveland, i'd have to side with them on this one. Sure, the guilt angle was really all they had (despite the fact it was wrong), but Lebron knows better than to make a special and completely break their (Cleveland) hearts in front of America. Sure, i understand he wants to win, and if it's not with Cleveland, cool. but.....ouch.
I have nothing against his decision. Its the way he made it. He went on a nation wide 1 hr special just to dump his team, he could have been a lot classier and walked out unharmed.
He basically reiterated to the world that Cleveland sucks, if nobody knew by now. Chris Bosh dissed the team by turning them down. Then Lebron, their own golden child, goes on TV and rejects them. I find it amusing how terribly Lebron handled this whole situation. Nobody's going to want to play in that shit hole now.
