Meanwhile in Portland, Larry Miller is having cookouts and long phone conversations with Paul Allen, and the "big" rumor is that Portland may offer a mediocre and undersized SF, with Utah probably going to match anyhow.

There's a reason Tom Penn and Pritchard didn't fire LeGarie. They've both landed much better jobs!

You need to learn to interpret the difference between a dig on the Knicks and your lord and savior.

KP wouldn't have to battle his coach to play more uptempo. Dolan wouldn't shy away from paying $3MM for draft picks. Tom Penn would rejoin him and there would be a certain poetry to it (given that MSG sits above Penn Station). He'd also make a hell of a lot more than $800K.

Good for KP if this happens.

BTW, if Walsh stays on as an advisor, he'll compliment KP perfectly.

Here, KP turned capspace into a PG that doesn't fit.

If you remember back when Pritchard coached the team in the 21-win season, he stressed up-tempo play. It was a disaster in terms of winning games, primarily because of the terrible players he was coaching, but it was fun to watch. I'd like to see what type of roster he could put together for an up-tempo coach like D'Antoni.

Ya, that's true. KP will do wonders with that roster and that coach.

All kidding aside about KP (and yes, I am mostly kidding about KP in my original post) I do think with Amare', Turiaf, Randolph and Azubuike that team will be a helluva lot more competitive than they've been in years. If they get a decent mid-level type point guard (say Luke Ridnour, or Ray Felton) then they'll probably even make the playoffs for the first time in years, but what I really wonder about is KP's ability to handle Dolan (an even more meddlesome and difficult owner then Allen) and the infamous New York media.

Best of luck to KP if he gets the gig.
