Re: Grange: Raps getting $15m TPE & picks for Bosh in sign-and-trade http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/miami-heat/sfl-miami-heat-update-s070910,0,4440538.story http://twitter.com/michaelgrange The endgame for the Miami Heat is in progress. The Heat is finalizing a deal with Washington Wizards free-agent swingman Mike Miller that is expected to net the former University of Florida standout a five-year, $30 million contract. The Heat also is finishing off a sign-and-trade agreement with the Toronto Raptors that will allow recently acquired power forward Chris Bosh to receive a six-year free-agent contract instead of the maximum five-year contract an outside free agent can receive. The Raptors, in turn, will receive a package of draft picks from the Heat and a trade exception of roughly $15 million. Unlike Bosh, Cleveland Cavaliers free-agent forward LeBron James will receive a five-year contract, with the right to opt out after four seasons. Guard Dwyane Wade, in re-signing with the Heat, will take a six-year contract, with the right to opt out after five.
Re: Sun-Sentinal: Raps getting $15m TPE & picks for Bosh in sign-and-trade The only pick I know Toronto is gunning for is their own 2011 1st, traded in the Jermaine O'Neal-Shawn Marion deal. Dunno about the others. If the Heat are a 60-win team for the next four years, any of their firsts will be worth little more than an early second.
Re: Sun-Sentinal: Raps getting $15m TPE & picks for Bosh in sign-and-trade chris bosh for our own pick and trade exception that will be squandered on overpaid, slow footed, weak willed player- consistent with colangelo's MO
Re: Sun-Sentinal: Raps getting $15m TPE & picks for Bosh in sign-and-trade interesting that Lebron isn't going for a big contract as well. Glad the raps are getting their pick back, it was set to be unprotected next year right?
Re: Sun-Sentinal: Raps getting $15m TPE & picks for Bosh in sign-and-trade The Raptors got a $14.5m TPE along with the Raptors 2011 1st and Miami's 2011 1st (lottery protected).
