They're options, just not good options. On pure talent, which we need, I'd take a flyer on TMac for the right price and a short deal. Maybe Josh Howard as well, though he really fell apart, and then tore his ACL. I think we're better off trying to make a pitch for a guy that's actually good. Call up the Nuggets and ask them if they really want to pay the LT for the next few years for a team that can't get over the hump. Likewise the Hornets. If we can't get one of the big guns, try for Iggy or KMart with the same approach.
If McGrady comes here as a ring chaser, I say sign him for a couple of years, cheap. If we make a trade for a good SG, who do we trade? We dont have much to go on. Taj is needed as a back up pf. We need Deng.
I'd take a flyer on Shawn Liviningstone. He was mentioned in one of the local papers today too as a possible target.
I wouldnt offer him a big, long term contract tho cuz of his injury issues. He's tall, could use more weight, but hes a decent back up PG
