Sounded like we would send Iguodala and maybe Kapono or Green depending on what the pick was. As of now, we continue to maintain that we will not be moving Iguodala.
^ Not if you get Kapono or Green back as well. Iggy is great, I would he would succeed having Rose, Boozer and Noah on same team.
If we can pull off this trade and get a solid backup PG...we would be set! Iggy would be a force back at home...
Huh...I guess i forgot that would still leave the hole at the starting SG spot. I still say that the Bulls should go and get Raja Bell. Make him want to come to the Bulls. He is exactly what we need on offense and defense out of our starting 2 guard. I do like the Iggy/Deng switch though.
Maybe not! Well maybe. If Gibson is included in the trade, we would need a pf back up with the remaining money. I like Iggys game. He can create his own shot. Him and Rose on the break would be a joy! Iggy 17.1 pts. 6.5 rebounds, 5.8 assists last year!! He shot 44% and 31% in 3's 1.72 steals. Green 8.7 pts 46% and 35% in threes. Kapono 5.7 pts, 42% and 37% in threes. I think we would have plenty of money left for a quality sg! Green may seem some minutes behind Korver, but very little Kapono would ride the pines.
From KC: The Bulls have seven players under contract. Figure Omer Asik is eight. They still have roughly $13 million in cap space to spend.
Our major limitation is not cap space but length of deals. Anything over two years will probably push us over the tax, unless Deng is traded. That decision is going to show how committed Reinsdorf is to winning.
No wonder all the talk about giving Deng away for next to nothing or expiring deals (see Portland trade rumor).
I wonder if KC is assuming a flat deal for Boozer, or whether he got the 13 million dollar number from team sources. If he got it from team sources, both Korver and Boozer got a flat deal. $35,879,980 (existing players if Boozer's deal is front loaded) + $5,00,000 (if Korver's deal is flat) + 2,368,020 (5 minimum cap holds) = $43,324,800 Salary cap = $58,0044,000 Salary space = $14,796,000
Offering deng for iffy is a pointless trade. And I like Iggy. Just offer Taj and picks and we've got something going
I don't think it's pointless. If we're forming a team to win a championship we needs someone who will be able to play Lebron, Wade and Kobe. Iggy is that guy, even if he's roughly the same talent as Deng. At the same time, the Bulls are not in the realm of competing for a championship unless they acquire one more borderline all-star. Acquiring Iggy outright would do that but also require the Bulls to pay the tax in two years. Is Reinsdorf ready to compete and pay the tax? Magic eight ball says probably not.
I wouldn't say it's a pointless trade, because Iggy can create his own shot, and Deng really can not. What we would be giving up is Deng's mid range jumper...Iggy is a slasher and really does not have much of a jumpshot. Iggy would become the Bulls 3rd legitimate scorer!
He could be a Pippen to Rose. He gets a lot of assists. He can pass the ball very well. I dont like losing Gibson.
