    They desperately needed a PG and I think Felton was the best available.

    Felton is not a very good player.

    An upgrade for the Knicks? Sure.

    Worth sucking the last several years to have space to sign? Hardly.

    They should have thrown that kind of money at Luke Ridnour; he isn't worth 7 million a year, but he's a better pick and roll player and he's a better shooter.

    So now they won't have the cap room to make a run for Carmelo and Tony Parker next off-season. They'll no longer be atrocious, but are ensuring a return to years of mediocrity.

    Moves such as this make Pat Riley look even better.

    Eddy Curry expires next year which frees up 11 million of cap room ... so with all of their recent pickups I'm not sure where New York's team salary stands going into next year's free agency period.
